An Instagram star that has garnered more than 1.8 million followers and owns its own fashion line shared how it built its online empire.

Danielle Bernstein, 26, who lives in New York City, runs a fashion blog called Who Wore What and recently launched her own fashion line.

"The biggest misconception people have about blogs is that it's easy," Danielle told the magazine.

"It takes a lot of motivation, drive and hard work to create a successful blog that can be turned into a full-time career."

He first launched his WhoWoreWhat blog nine years ago to document street style every day so people could be inspired when they prepared.

"After six months, I turned the camera and WeWoreWhat became a personal style diary," he said.

When asked about how other people can grow their own online presence, Danielle said she felt comfortable with feeling uncomfortable.

"Take risks: it's fun to leave your comfort zone once in a while," he said.

"Do not lose sight of your ultimate goal and be an intrepid network holder."
