Instagram influencer and model Niece Waidhofer, 31, DELETED all her Instagram posts before death

Model and Instagram influencer Niece Waidhofer, who her family says died by suicide, initially left fans confused when she wiped most of her popular social media accounts before she died.

Early last month, Waidhofer, 31 — who was single and had no children — scrubbed her social media of nearly all of her photos and videos, leaving just three messages.

Waidhofer had more than 4.2 million followers on Instagram and often used her platform to spread awareness about mental health advocacy.

The model’s latest post to the social media giant appears to have been a selfie in her car on March 25.

The other two surviving posts are from her with a dog, who dances together, and from Waidhofer with an unknown man she said in the captions that she wanted to “spend the rest of my life with.”

In Waidhofer’s memory, her family said they would establish a nonprofit mental health awareness organization that would work to grants for research into mental illness.

The charity, the family said, will be called ‘Vrede van Nicht’.

The move sparked some concern from her fan base, with rumors whirling on reddit last month that she took her own life.

‘RIP to niece The strong ones who offer to help and advise also need help and advice. Life happens to everyone. Rest in peace,” one user wrote in a post on May 28, sharing one of the star’s surviving photos – a selfie taken in March.

“Looks like she passed away,” the user wrote. My condolences to her family and friends, she will be missed. Her latest Instagram photo as a tribute to her.”

Her latest post was a selfie taken in a car and was uploaded on March 25.

Waidhofer was found dead at her home just outside Houston last month after a concerned family member called for a wellness check on the star. She was 31.

Family told TMZ Thursday that the influencer – who rose to fame in 2015 after starting the popular ‘Roast Me’ trend on Reddit – committed suicide due to struggles with her mental health.

She was found dead in her mansion in Katy, a small town just outside of Houston.

“Unfortunately, cousin committed suicide after a long battle with mental health issues,” a relative told the outlet.

They added: “She was very open with her followers about her struggles and even wanted to help followers who were also suffering.”

“From our very first date, I knew this was the man I want to spend the rest of my life with,” Waidhofer captioned the heartfelt message.

Yet nothing could have prepared me for the elation I felt when he asked me to be his wife.

“My love, you are all I will ever want. I will love you with all my heart until I take my last breath. Always<3'

Those wedding plans, however, never materialized — with Waidhofer reportedly single at the time of her death.

A few months ago, Waidhofer posted an apology video in which she admitted she edited some of her photos to look leaner and rounder — and vowed to stop because she didn’t want to perpetuate stereotypical unattainable beauty standards.

Waidhofer – who became famous for creating the internet campaign Roast Me after posting a photo of herself asking internet users to make fun of her – was often subjected to toxic, derogatory comments in her posts.

The influencer has also apparently suffered since the death of her father, who passed away in 2019 after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

When the news of her passing broke on Thursday, fans were quick to share their condolences on social media.

“She was one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram,” one person wrote. “Mental health is super important. More than you can ever imagine.’

Another noted how Waidhofer, whose real name is Deniece, often worked to help her followers with their mental health issues while she was struggling herself.

‘The strong ones who offer to help and advise also need help and advice,’ wrote the user, before adding: ‘Life happens to everyone. Rest in peace.

Another added: ‘Do ur [sic] best to surround yourself [sic] with people who are sincere with you [sic]† this should have been noticed long ago. RIP to her.’

The charity, the family said, will be called ‘Vrede van Nicht’.

However, family members added that the late star was more than just her mental struggle — and that she took pride in the fact that she wrote all of her Instagram posts herself and took most of her photos and videos without a professional photographer.

Niece was more than her struggle,” her family told the outlet. “She was beautiful and kind, sensitive and funny, creative and talented, generous and compassionate, thoughtful and challenging.”

The family added that upon death, Waidhofer was reunited with her beloved dog Puff and with her father, William, who died of stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March 2019.

In 2018, niece revealed the diagnosis on social media, saying her father chose not to undergo treatment for the disease.

“While it is so painful to say goodbye, we take comfort in the knowledge that she has been reunited with her father, her three grandparents, her Uncle Rusty and her beloved Puff; and that she is now free to be herself and at last at peace.’

She is survived by her mother, Martha, and younger brother William Jr, 27.
