Jennifer Garner has opened the doors to her stunning $7.9 million farmhouse-style home.
On Tuesday, the 52-year-old actress, who purchased the property in 2019 after finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck, gave Architectural summary a tour of his impressive property, which he built “from scratch.”
After moving out of the 8,798-square-foot mansion she once shared with her ex-husband and their three children Violet Anne, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, the 13 Going on 30 star embarked on a mission to create her own dream home in Brentwood.
“I realized I was going to have to move out of a house that was my dream,” she said as she recalled her search for the perfect place to raise her family.
She continued: ‘I looked and looked for a house to move into, but I needed privacy, and any house that had privacy was grander than I was comfortable with.’
Jennifer Garner has opened the doors to her stunning $7.9 million farmhouse-style home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
After becoming “frustrated” by what was on the market, she opted to purchase a lot and partnered with designer Brooke Giannetti and architect Steve Giannetti.
“I panicked in the middle of the build,” she admitted. “I thought I’d never made a Pinterest board before. I’d never even shown him pictures from a magazine. I just told him what I wanted and he made it… but it turns out I’m really, really happy.”
The mother of three explained to AD that this was the first time she had made design decisions on her own.
This includes building a space with many custom features, including a Harry Potter-themed office for their son, an aquarium for his fish, and a “slumber room.”
The artist, who was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, went on to say that her favorite spot in the house was her upstairs reading nook.
She went on to describe a “magical evening” with her three children “piled” next to her in the reading corner as they “pulled out all their books from when they were little” and “read them one after the other.”
“We’re all readers,” he said. “And if you’re building your own home, you might as well offer people as many good places to read as possible.”
Another unique feature is Garner’s own “vegetable house.”

“I love herbs,” she said. “Especially thyme, but I can’t grow enough of it. My kids and I love kale, so we always have plenty of kale.”
In addition to spending time in the kitchen cooking for her kids and cuddling on the couch as a family, she raved that she also loves hosting friends.
“If it’s nighttime and I have friends over… we turn on the heating, the fire, the blankets, the warm blanket,” she said.
After giving the outlet a tour of her home, Garner explained her surprising decision to allow fans a sneak peek into her home.
“I’m a very private person when it comes to my home,” she admitted, before listing the reasons why she wanted to show off her space.
The Golden Globe winner praised that she had “never built anything alone” before and was “very proud of it.”
“I feel so grateful every time I walk into my house,” Garner said. “That I get to live here. That I’m so lucky to have my kids here. It’s not something that happens to me, but I’m so happy to have shared it with you.”

Her architect, Steve, said Garner “wanted a new, warm, family-friendly home.”
“I had this idea of creating something that looked like a farmhouse and a barn,” he said. “We wanted natural wood, comfort, a kind of warm embrace of a house for her because she’s a lovely person.”
Steve’s wife Brooke, who was responsible for the home’s beautiful interior design, noted that “Jen loves vintage pieces” and that there’s “something a little whimsical about her taste.”
“She likes soft shapes, curves. This place is kind of a homey version of Jen’s personality,” Brooke explained.

Steve added that his client isn’t “trying to be flashy or have big pops of color or anything like that.”
She moved into the property following the end of her 10-year marriage to Affleck, who recently purchased a $20.5 million home in Pacific Palisades next door to her current residence amid his ongoing divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Earlier this week, a source told People that Affleck is “slowly moving into his new home” and is “where he wants to be: close to his children and in a neighborhood he loves.”
“He also likes to work and is very focused on the positive aspects,” the source added.
Garner’s master bedroom included a luxurious en-suite bathroom.

He is currently in the process of selling his former marital home with Lopez, who paid $60.85 million in May 2023.
On August 20, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in Los Angeles County Superior Court on what would have been the second anniversary of their wedding at their 87-acre, $8.9 million Hampton Island Preserve estate in Georgia.
