Sir Rod Stewart is sailing into his 80s aboard a $150 million superyacht in Barbados, DailyMail.com can reveal.
The veteran rocker has gathered his extended family for a 10-day celebration party ahead of his 80th birthday on Friday, and he’s footing the bill for it all.
The chart-topper, who has eight children from five women, paid $3 million for a three-level superyacht that set sail on Sunday.
His wife Penny Lancaster, 53, is on board with sons Alastair Wallace, 19, and Aiden Patrick, 13, as well as Rod’s daughter Kimberly Stewart, 45.
The TV personality and socialite has been sharing snaps from the lavish trip, including a photo of her daughter Delilah, 13, posing with Rod.
His brother Sean Stewart, 44, is part of the party along with his girlfriend Julia Stambler.
The veteran rocker has gathered his extended family for a 10-day celebration party ahead of his 80th birthday on Friday, and he’s footing the bill for it all.
Rod’s daughter Ruby, 37, and Renee, 32, are on board with their respective partners Jake Kalic and Adam Sumner, as well as Liam Stewart, 30, and his wife Nicole Artukovich, who is expecting his second son.
Otis and Louie, both his grandson’s, are also on the trip.
The luxury ship, which arrived in St Barts on Tuesday morning, has a large crew, complete with three chefs “who cater for everyone’s dietary needs and restrictions” as the famous family “tours various islands” in the Caribbean .
“The holiday is costing Rod millions,” a source told DailyMail.com. He is known to be a cheapskate, but not this time. He took everyone to Florida first class and told them they won’t need to put their hands in their pockets at all. He is catering to your every whim.
‘The reason for the trip is that Rod feels it is time to get his family together for his big birthday. There have been battles between many of them over the years. The singer wants everything to be harmonious from now on.’
The family kicked off the first celebrations by paying tribute to Rod’s beloved Celtic FC on Sunday.
Sean, Adam, Renee, Jake, Alastair, Aiden, Julia, Ruby, Liam, Nicole, Penny and Rod donned the green and white photo for a group family photo.
The Maggie May singer shared the image on her Instagram and wrote: “Early birthday celebrations.”
Rod posted a pre-80th birthday photo with his family on Sunday (pictured, top right: Sean Stewart, Adam Sumner, Renee Stewart, Jake Kalic, Alastair Wallace Stewart, Aiden Patrick Stewart, Sir Rod; bottom left From right: Julia Stambler, Penny Lancaster, Ruby Stewart, Liam Stewart, Nicole Artukovich)
On Tuesday night, the Stewarts enjoyed a night out and Penny shared a photo of them all outside a bar at the popular celebrity spot.
Julia also shared several videos of the celebrations at the Le Ti cabaret club.
Rod is no stranger to holidays with his brood, having spent days aboard a 197ft, £274,000-a-week luxury yacht in Italy in summer 2022.
But insiders claim he wanted to “go big” for his current celebratory adventure.
The Grammy winner chose the 288-foot ship that features nine guest suites, plus a beauty salon, gym, hammam, pool and helipad.
“This trip meant a lot to Rod,” a second source added. ‘The whole family has come together and put aside any drama to truly have a bonding experience.
‘Being surrounded by so much love is invaluable to Rod. I wanted to go big for this one.
“It couldn’t have been bigger.”
Nicole has shared a series of photos from the trip, including one of her, Liam and their son Louie on board the yacht.
Nicole is expecting her second child with the ice hockey player and tells her fans: “Nine weeks left with just the three of us.”
The vacation marked the first big family trip for Sean’s girlfriend, Julia, who previously dated Charlie Sheen.
Clearly enjoying the luxurious getaway, the skincare founder has shared several enviable selfies on board the ship.
“It’s the first time he’s really met the whole family,” the source continued. “They think she’s wonderful and perfect for Sean.”
They added: “Nothing but love as the Stewarts set sail on the open sea.”
The only child not involved is Rod’s eldest, Sarah Streeter, who was put up for adoption as a teenager and for years had no idea he was her biological father.
The couple later reconciled and, in 2018, Sarah told the Mirror: “You can’t get past the fact that he’s Rod Stewart, the star, but when we’re together I put it in the back of my mind.”
Rod’s vacation will no doubt be a welcome break before the extension of his 13-year Las Vegas residency, The Hits, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The Sailing singer, who will play the Legend venue at Glastonbury Festival this year, announced The Encore Shows in August, which will see him return to the venue for 12 dates in March, May and June.
Rod sang about being Forever Young and, perhaps fittingly, Rod shared a wide-eyed photo of himself as a child to mark his 80th birthday.
That same month, he was forced to cancel two dates on the North American leg of his tour and a residency performance due to strep throat.
Rod, who has had prostate and thyroid cancer, has spoken publicly about his mortality in recent months, telling the Sun he is “not afraid.”
“I am aware that my days are numbered, but I am not afraid,” he said in July. ‘We all have to pass away at some point, so we’re all in the same basket.
‘I’m going to enjoy these last few years as much as I can. I say few, probably another 15. I can do it easily mate, easy.’
