Inside Out 2’s massive box office success continues as the film has grossed over $1.25 billion worldwide, surpassing 2018’s Incredibles 2 to become Pixar’s highest-grossing film.
The Incredibles 2, which hit theaters in June 2018, grossed $1.24 billion after earning $608 million at the domestic box office and $634 million in international revenue, according to Box Office Mojo.
Inside Out 2, which stars Amy Poehler and Maya Hawke in the respective roles of Joy and Anxiety, has also moved into fourth place on the all-time list of highest-grossing animated films. Variety reported on Wednesday.
Currently, the films ahead of it on the list are 2019’s Frozen II at $1.45 billion; 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie at $1.36 billion; and 2013’s Frozen at $1.29 billion.
Both Frozen films were produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, which is under the Disney umbrella with Pixar, while the Super Mario Bros. film was released by Universal and Illumination.

As of Wednesday, Inside Out 2 has grossed $543 million in domestic revenue and $708 million in international earnings since it hit theaters on June 14, according to Box Office Mojo.
The film also achieved the feat of being the fastest animated film to reach the $1 billion mark in worldwide revenue. The Walt Disney Company he said on June 30.

The film was directed by Kelsey Mann and features a supporting cast including Ayo Edebiri, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Lilimar and Grace Lu.
The film’s story centers on the emotions of a 13-year-old girl named Riley (Tallman) who is dealing with a host of new emotions as she goes through puberty and starts high school.
The emotions depicted in the initial film (Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust) are now accompanied by new emotions including Anxiety, Envy, Shame, Boredom, and Nostalgia.

The massive success of Inside Out 2, which is the highest-grossing film of the year so far, is a rebound for Pixar and Disney after a string of underperforming films like 2022’s Lightyear, 2022’s Strange World, and 2023’s Elemental.
The original film in the franchise, 2015’s Inside Out, grossed $858 million upon its release in June 2015.
It grossed $356 million in domestic revenue and $501 million in international revenue, according to Box Office Mojo.
