An heiress and her property developer husband staged a lavish gender reveal at a palatial home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs — with their baby’s gender exposed with a tower of blue silk bows.
Sydney socialite Lou O’Neil, the daughter of the founder of international cleaning company Hayco, and husband Jake O’Neil put on an intimate and stylish performance in Centennial Park this weekend, with bouquets of brown roses, a food banquet and a ‘ ethereal’ tablecloth.
The 34-year-old recently took to Instagram to share that the newlywed couple were expecting their firstborn and to show off their extravagant gender reveal party, held on the property of in-laws Ned O’Neil on Sunday.

The gender reveal was styled by creative studio The Make Haus, with guests given blue and pink bows prior to the reveal to guess the baby’s gender.
Lou shared footage of the moment she and Jake learned the gender of their newborn surrounded by family.
She pulled open some double doors and found a tower of blue bows that indicated the couple had a baby boy on the way.
The couple’s pregnancy comes a year after the couple tied the knot at the heritage-listed Carthona mansion in Darling Point, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

The marriage was a meeting of two of the wealthiest families in the country.
Jake, who works for the Addenbrooke family business, is the second oldest son of Denis O’Neil and Charlotte O’Neil, a millionaire superyacht broker and Rose Bay marina owner.
While Lou is the daughter of Bi and the late Donald Hay, brush pioneer and founder of Hayco.
Jack and Lou originally dated in high school before reuniting in 2020.
Lou, a beauty and fashion content creator, isn’t the only wealthy outsider to marry into the O’Neil family.
Aussie Home Loans heiress Deborah Symond O’Neil married eldest son Ned in 2018 in a lavish ceremony in the Whitsundays.
