When Chloe Kelly married her long-time boyfriend Scott Moore, her nerves reached new heights, far surpassing pre-match jitters.
The feeling was so strong that the Lioness, 26, who plays for Manchester City and the England national team, was kept awake every few hours the night before her Cheshire wedding at Merrydale Manor in Over Peover on July 24.
As one of seven children, it was the reassuring presence of her family that made the day so special, along with her footballer bridesmaids, Ruby Mace and Steph Houghton.
“It was very important to us that both our families were part of our day,” said the 26-year-old. British Vogue – a statement that also included his “babies,” namely his dogs Otis and Rolo, who both wore tuxedos to the event.
Once the formalities were over, the newlyweds partied with family and friends until 2am and then continued the party at a disco in their kitchen until 4.30am.

It was the shop assistant who chose her Galia Lahav wedding dress, a flowing gown with a high neck and embellished sleeves.
Her bridal look was completed with a matching veil from the same brand along with a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and jewellery from London-based Bucherer Fine Jewellery.
Chloe, who usually keeps her makeup low-key on a day-to-day basis, opted for a glamorous look for the occasion, done by celebrity makeup artist Selina Bassi.
Hairstylist Michael Gray worked his magic on her hair, styling Chloe’s blonde locks into a half-updo, although the couple initially decided on a completely different option.
“I’m lucky we got married so quickly, otherwise I would keep changing my mind about things,” she told Vogue.
It was a final look that brought her bridesmaids to tears, while her father also told her she looked beautiful.
The England ace’s bridesmaids wore black silk dresses for the wedding, which was also attended by footballers Gabby George, Sandy Maciver and Mayumi Pacheco.
White flowers adorned the room where Chloe and Scott, who met at the Everton ground where they both worked at the time, said “I do.”

The couple didn’t hold back when it came to their wedding cake, with a four-tiered creation that included four different flavors.

Chloe became a sporting sensation when she scored the winning goal in the Women’s Euro 2022 final against Germany and was booked for celebrating her goal.
A white hallway and warmly lit candles added to the whimsical ambiance, with French windows showcasing the grounds of the Cheshire venue.
The footballer’s triplet brothers, Ryan, Jamie and Martin, were three of Scott’s best men, and his sister Paris was his maid of honour.
Chloe recalled: “Looking back, it was a proud moment for both of us to have done it all ourselves.”
Following the ceremony, which took place at 2:00 pm, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés before moving into the dining room to listen to speeches.
Guests later dined on roast chicken and a trio of desserts, before the couple cut into a four-tiered cake, each with a different flavour: Victoria sponge, red velvet, carrot cake and lemon raspberry sponge.
Cocktail hour began at 7:30, before Chloe and Scott took to the dance floor for their first dance to “Never Change” by Picture This.
DJ Tony Perry then took over, entertaining guests with music into the early hours, alongside saxophonist Adam Holloway.
Magician Jamie Segrave also entertained guests. On Instagram, he explained his biggest trick of the day.
She wrote: ‘When I arrived I handed Chloe and Scott a package to keep as it would be important later. They held onto it until I was about to leave.
‘I took a friend’s phone and saved a prediction to her camera roll. Then, I asked Chloe to think of a number between 1 and 100.
‘I then asked her to look at my notes, there was a list of 100 past and present footballers, she looked at the footballer listed in her number and was now thinking of a random player.’

The four-tier cake, which included carrot and Victoria sponge, was decorated with a black bow.
Chloe chose number 22, which on the list corresponded to Thierry Henry. Jamie proved his skill by correctly predicting her choice and the package he presented to the couple at the start of the ceremony was a T-shirt with the name of the French footballer on it.
Although her low-cut evening dress was almost ruined by a red wine spill, the footballer luckily laughed it off and continued dancing until 4:30 am.
Earling-born Chloe shot to fame during last year’s World Cup when she scored England’s winning penalty against Nigeria.
Just a year earlier, he had been a substitute in all six of England’s games at the European Championship, having barely recovered from a ligament injury he suffered in 2021.
She has been in a relationship with Moore, who is believed to work at a golf resort, for more than five years and they have kept their romance largely out of the public eye.
The wedding guests dined on a roast chicken and a trio of desserts at dinner at 5 p.m.
Chloe and Scott informed guests of the agenda and table seating arrangements with a bright white sign.
Chloe was entertained by magician Jamie Segrave, who entertained her with a football-related trick.
Saxophonist Adam Holloway entertained guests on the dance floor, along with DJ Tony Perry.
The couple announced their engagement in December 2023. Over the festive period, Chloe took to Instagram to share the happy news after Scott got down on one knee in a romantic marriage proposal in Iceland.
The footballer shared a snapshot as the two wrapped themselves in snow against the illuminated green sky.
Showing off her diamond ring, she posed with her hand on her fiancé’s chest as the couple beamed for the photo. She captioned the post: “The easiest YES. Here’s to eternity with you.”
Chloe also shared a close-up of the ring as she skated through the snow on a sled pulled by a husky.
The athlete was overwhelmed by emotional messages from her teammates and famous friends that flooded the comments.
