Inside Larry Emdur’s property empire after his last purchase from Neverfail Bay

He reportedly signed a new seven-figure contract with Channel Seven earlier this year after replacing Andrew O’Keefe as presenter of The Chase.

And Larry Emdur isn’t afraid to sprinkle some of that much-earned cash with the 56-year-old television personality who recently bought a derelict block in Berowra Waters for $1 million.

It is just the latest in a series of takeovers by Larry and his 26-year-old wife, Sylvie, who have quietly built an impressive property portfolio across New South Wales in recent years.

According to the Daily Telegram, Larry and Sylvie recently bought a ‘derelict bushland block’ in Neverfail Bay.

The secluded estate, along the banks of Berowra Creek, is accessible only by boat.

The tract, last sold in 1999 for $575,000, was purchased by the Emdurs for $1 million.

“The Magic Bay is much quieter than Bondi,” Larry . said realestate.com.au at the time.

Kangaroo Valley Vacation Home

Around the same time, the Emdurs spent $2.15 million on a stylish shipping container home in Kangaroo Valley.

Designed by architect Alexander Michael in 2018, the house combines steel, glass and polished concrete floors with eco-friendly touches such as solar panels with a battery bank and rainwater harvesting.

They listed the state-of-the-art property as a vacation rental for about $1,000 a night.

The former host of the Price is Right game show managed to get a buyer for the house, which had raised $850 a week in rent.

Dover Heights mansion

In 2017, Larry and Sylvie sold their clifftop mansion in Dover Heights for a record $11.5 million to celebrity account Anthony Bell.

The deal was easily the biggest ever for a home in the sought-after beachfront suburb, home to many affluent socialites.

Mr Bell’s purchase crushed the $9.5 million paid in 2014 for a similar mansion by South African tech investor Kevin Bermeister and his wife, Beverley.

The Emdurs had paid $6.8 million for the luxury home in 2011.

They had lived in the suburb for more than two decades and had been upgraded to the house for which they paid $770,000 in 1994.

The rocks

After the sale in Dover Heights, the couple changed their minds by moving into a $3 million apartment in The Rocks, which had been converted from a landmark Cadbury depot.

The three bedroom home features an open master bedroom with its own full bath.

Tanner Kibble Denton Architects designed the 1924 conversion of the chocolate depot into six luxury apartments.
