Brittany Mahomes gave fans a look at the dream nursery she designed for her newborn daughter Golden Raye.
She and her husband, NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, welcomed their baby boy into the world on Sunday, January 12, and were ready for his return home.
The 29-year-old Kansas City Chiefs WAG opened up to People Magazine about working with Crate & Kids to rebuild her baby’s “cozy” nursery in an interview leading up to her due date.
The mother-of-three posed in a cream knit button-down and white pants while cradling her baby bump. She posed next to her baby’s crib, flaunting the minimalist yet modern pink theme.
“Our lives can be hectic, especially with two little ones running around, so our goal was to make this space serene and relaxing,” she said in the middle of Golden’s elegant bedroom.
“I love a cozy, moody vibe and I felt like the dusty rose was a peaceful palette and something she could grow into,” she added.

Golden’s new room was fully furnished with a cream-colored rocking chair and a six-compartment closet to store her clothes. We also get a glimpse of her blush-colored changing table, adorned with a stuffed bunny.
Hanging above the sunburst wallpaper was a sign that read, “Let Your Light Shine,” in shades of coral. A drop bridge shade lamp was added for a touch of gold.
Recalling the moment she started thinking about decor ideas for the room, Brittany said she and Patrick teamed up to select pieces they both felt “comfortable” with.
“I took the lead in presenting ideas to the design team, but Patrick definitely had a say in choosing selected pieces and options we were given,” the blonde vixen shared. “We both spend a lot of time in daycare, so we wanted to make sure it was a space we both felt comfortable in.”
On the opposite side of the room was a pastel pink wall adorned with three floating shelves containing toys, stuffed animals, books, and the alphabet on a wooden board. A setting sun cutout was added as a nod to Golden Raye.
Taylor Swift’s best friend also revealed that she works closely with Crate & Kids and provided samples of inspiration that influenced the final room decor. In the end, she was “impressed” by the result.
‘We work with Crate & Kids in the nursery thanks to their incredible Design Desk services. “Their team shared beautiful renderings of the nursery based on the inspiration I shared with them, and we were impressed with their design,” she said.
Pointing out the obvious connection between the solar theme and her daughter’s name, the star admitted that the Golden Raye nickname was in fact the inspiration for the motif.

Above the baby’s crib was his name written on a decorative accessory, along with his initials sewn into his blanket.

As a tribute to Golden Raye’s NFL star father, a small stuffed football was placed on a shelf filled with books, wooden blocks and a basket of stuffed animals. Of course, a full sun accent was strategically hung over the shelf, next to a succulent.
‘The design is inspired by the baby’s name! There are many personal touches that match the theme. “Crate & Kids had some really cute pieces that worked perfectly for the vibe I was going for,” Brittany added.
The star also pointed out several pieces of furniture that she considered a “necessity” due to her experience as a mother of three. He also shares three-year-old Sterling Skye and two-year-old Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes II with Patrick.
“After having two babies, I know how much time you will spend in that chair and you need a comfortable place to sit,” she said. “I love the Nessa Sherpa Glider from Crate & Kids, it’s super comfortable and looks perfect in that space.”
Brittany added, “Plus, the matching ottoman can be moved, which is a necessity since Patrick is much taller than me; we love being able to adjust it to whoever is using the chair.”
And with her more than three years of experience as a mom, the Kansas City Current co-owner said she knew exactly which decor pieces were unnecessary this time around.
“I’ve learned from every baby that you don’t need as much as you think, especially in the early days,” she shared.
Of course, the Texas native had her own advice for expectant mothers.

She shared: “I always tell new moms to focus on the essentials for newborns: a crib for them to grow in and a glider to rock them at night, plus smaller things like a bassinet, diapers, onesies and accessories “. nice clothes and larger items to register in sizes for when they are a little older.’
Brittany also revealed that she was “excited to become a family of 5” and that her young children were also thrilled to welcome a little sister.
“They are both excited to have a little sister; although Bronze is still too young to fully understand it, he can’t wait,” she said at the time.
“Sterling is already the best big sister and loves going to the baby’s room to play with the new toys,” she added.
Brittany and Patrick are high school sweethearts. They began dating in March 2012 while attending Whitehouse High School in Texas, and even attended their prom together a year later.
