Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom have separated and are currently living apart after the former world champion boxer was caught sexting another woman.
The sportsman’s marriage to the mother of his three children is on the rocks after he contacted bridal model Sumaira online and asked her to send raunchy selfies.
It is understood Amir and Instagram influencer Faryal are splitting their time between their homes in Dubai and Britain while she decides whether she wants to end their 10-year marriage.
A source close to the Khan family told MailOnline: ‘Faryal is taking time to think about whether or not to walk away. She’s going through a very difficult time and choosing to focus on her children while she and Amir continue to co-parent.’
Following the news, MailOnline takes a look at the rocky romance of Amir and Faryal through the years…
Woes: Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom have separated and are currently living apart after the former world champion boxer was caught sexting another woman
Amir sexts bridal model
Amir has admitted he ‘regretted’ messaging a model named Sumaira, revealing he’d contacted her out of ‘boredom’ and told The Sun newspaper that he’d go through therapy to stop him sexting other women.
Initially complimenting her tattoos, the former boxer’s messages quickly turned racy, telling the model that she ‘looked good (in a) G string’, suggesting that she’d had a boob job and asking her to send raunchy pictures, before then trying to meet up with her in person.
Faryal had previously appeared to defend her husband, blasting Sumaira in a lengthy Instagram post after the model claimed Khan had told her his marriage was ‘a bit of a business arrangement’.
The couple have gone through a tumultuous time recently after Faryal posted a lengthy statement in response to her husband’s text exchanges with model Sumaira.
Stating that she ‘refuses to play out my marriage publicly,’ Faryal wrote on Instagram that ‘after a long week of accusations, slander and harassment I have decided it is now time to address the situation that has unfolded.’
Earlier this month, it was alleged the boxer, 36, contacted bridal model Sumaira online and said that he and Faryal, 31, were ‘not properly together’ and that their marriage was ‘a bit of a business arrangement’.
Amir later hit out at the claims in a chat with Geo News, claiming Sumaira had sent him raunchy pictures unsolicited.

Addressing his denial, Sumaira, 25, shared a TikTok video in which she accused the boxer of lying and threatened to disclose more screenshots of their conversations, prompting his wife Faryal, 31, to address the remarks in an Instagram Story.
Faryal, who shares three children with boxer Amir, has in a new statement described Sumaira’s actions as a ‘hate campaign’ and has denied that she is ‘responsible for Sumaria’s current mental state.’
Implying that she is standing by Amir, Faryal went on to state that ‘the whole world is aware of his track record’ and insists that Sumaira must have been aware he was married when she sent him revealing photos.
‘Over the duration of the last 7 days, I had had private conversations of mine dissected and torn apart by an alleged ‘legal representative’ acting on behalf of Sumaira, who has taken to social media with what I can only describe as a hate campaign,’ Faryal wrote.
‘My name has been used in almost every single story she has posted in a bid to tarnish my reputation and name label me as not only a woman who has no ‘self respect’ but Amir’s supporter and enabler in these circumstances, all because I refuse to publicise the private dealings I have with my husband.’
‘How I deal with my marriage and my husband is not the concern of anyone else. I refuse to play out my marriage publicly, the situation has been humiliating enough for me and I will not further play in the spectacle created by others in order to satisfy their desires.
‘I will stand strong in my stance that I did not owe Sumaira anything more than a civil conversation.’
Faryal then addressed Sumaria’s claims that she was unaware Amir was married, writing: ‘This woman was not under the impression that Amir was a single bachelor, yet she continued on speaking to him whilst gathering her evidence to take to social media.’
Revealing what she said to Sumaria in a ‘civil conversation’ Fayral wrote that ‘I knew what the outcome of this situation would be and I forewarned her not to take this to social media.’
‘I explained that the situation would cause immense embarrassment not only for her but for my family also and that in the end no one wins.’
‘I am a woman who receives abuse on a daily basis simply for existing and I knew she would also receive the same for even entertaining a married man, no matter what spin she put on the story.’
‘I’m now being made responsible for Sumaria’s current mental state. Her ‘legal representaive has claimed that Sumaria suffering with her mental health as a result of her social media presence and exposures in her exchanges with my husband Amir and this has somehow become my fault too.’
‘I was the one who was disrespected, lied to and embroiled in scandal and once again, it has become my fault.’
‘Amir and Sumera are both adults who engaged in consented communication. They did not consult me when exchanging messages nor did they consider or respect me when building a ‘bond.”
‘I will not be dragged through the mud now for not ‘supporting another woman’. This woman had no respect or regard for me as a woman and as Amir’s wife. There was also no consideration of my mental health.’
‘I am not in control of Amir’s actions not those of Sumaira. I had a civil conversation with her which is more than most women in my position would be willing to do.’
Faryal finished her statement by addressing Amir’s previous ‘scandals,’ explaining: ‘I am being criticised for being Amir’s wife, for still staying with him knowing his ‘track record’.
‘This is the man I am married too and have three young children with. The whole world is aware of his track record, his reputation precedes him, why would you as a single woman want to engage in a conversation with him at all?’
‘My focus is my children and shielding them from all that is happening.’
Claims: Earlier this month it was alleged the boxer contacted bridal model Sumaira (pictured) online and told him that he and Faryal were ‘not properly together’
Amir joins celebrity dating app Raya
In 2018 Amir was allegedly caught on private dating app Raya, joining an exclusive host of celebrities and high-profile singletons at the time.
His profile image showed the Bolton native gazing fiercely at the camera, while showcasing his toned upper body as he went shirtless.
The page also displayed Amir’s age, Twitter handle, and place of birth, as well as where he was living.
Amir struck by cheating allegations 17 days after birth of second child
Amir allegedly cheated on Faryal just 17 days after the birth of their second child in 2018.
Beautician Sophia Hammani claimed she slept with the boxer after meeting him in a London nightclub.
Speaking to The Sun, Sophia revealed that Amir’s wife Faryal texted her after she found her number on his phone, calling him a ‘f***ing a*****e’.
Sophia also claimed that Faryal forgave her for the tryst in their text exchange.
However, Amir rejected the claims as ‘nonsense’ on Twitter, saying she was simply a fan aggrieved when he wouldn’t pose for a photo.
The former Olympic boxer wrote on Twitter after the story broke: ‘What total nonsense! She was wanting a pic but was told to leave by security due to her being too drunk. IMO that’s the reason she sold a story.’
He added: ‘Quite strange at the fact that there is no photos of us together. Supposedly, i gave her £20, is that all she’s worth?’
Faryal gave birth to the couple’s second child, Alayna, on April 24 2018, and Sophia alleged they slept together on May 11 that year.

She believed Amir was divorced at the time of their one-night stand, and only saw that he was married when he shared a family photo on Instagram.
Sophia received a text from Faryal after she discovered he was still married, which she claims read: ‘What a f***ing a*****e. He makes me sick. I cannot believe this man.’
However, instead of being angry with her husband’s lover, Sophia claimed they had a ‘sisterly chat’ and Faryal forgave her for the fling.
She said: ‘He’s disgusting. He slept with me and his wife had just given birth. I nearly threw up when I saw they were still together. I felt so used. That must be every wife’s nightmare. That poor woman.’
Sophia claimed she met Amir on a night out with friends at London club Libertine where they were invited to sit at his table.
The pair hit it off and her group joined Amir and his friends at a shisha bar, where they continued to flirt.
She said Amir then invited her back to the £200-a-night Montcalm Hotel in Shoreditch, East London where he was staying at the time.
It’s alleged the pair slept together that night and the next morning he gave her £20 for a cab to get her back to her house eight miles away.
Sohia believed Amir and Faryal were divorced after their temporary separation in 2017.
Amir and Faryal split as they accuse each other of cheating
Amir and Faryal temporarily split in August 2017, but reconciled just three months later.
The pair launched into a sensational Twitter spat at the time, each accusing the other of cheating.
The British boxer told followers he and wife Faryal had decided to go their separate ways after four years of marriage but after a stream of mud-slinging tweets, as he claimed she was sleeping with heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, Faryal claimed they had both been hacked.
But in a calm and collected Snapchat video, Amir confirmed everything was true, and that they would be divorcing.
Amir’s family had waded into the debacle, launching another attack on Faryal, calling her ‘selfish’ and even claiming she drove him into depression.
A Khan family source told MailOnline at the time: ‘Amir and Faryal have split up. It’s over. There have been problems in the relationship for a long time and they were headed for a separation. It’s the best outcome.’
Allegations: In 2017, Amir claimed Faryal was sleeping with heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (pictured this month)
Another Khan family source told MailOnline: ‘Faryal is evil. She took control of Amir and drove him to the extent where he has suffered depression.
‘Amir was almost held hostage by in-laws and was given ‘either with us or against us’ situation to decide between his family and in laws.
‘That’s tragic. It was clear from very early on that Faryal is interested in Amir’s money and fame and we told Amir so that she’s a bad choice.
‘We all make mistakes. It’s good Amir has reached to the conclusive fact that she’s a cheater, selfish and greedy. This was bound to happen.’
After the afternoon of tweets slung between the pair, Faryal snapchatted followers saying their accounts had been compromised.
She wrote: ‘My accounts have been hacked! Wtf!’ She later deleted her wave of tweets about the split.
But within minutes of her claims of a hack, Khan had snapchatted himself to confirm the split was true, and no one had been hacked.
He said: ‘Everything you saw on social media, it is real. Obviously, me and Faryal have decided to move on and I have decided walk away.
‘Nothing has been hacked. We have to move forward it’s not healthy for any of us. I’m just not happy with the way I get treated by her.
‘I wish her all the best in the future.
‘Don’t want you guys to worry. I am staying strong. Big thank you for all your support. What’s done is done, it’s all true.’
Amir Khan’s sex tape
In 2017 a video allegedly showing Amir performing a sex act while speaking to model on Skype emerged.
The video was said to be made shortly after the boxer married in wife Faryal in 2013.
Amir and Faryal spoke out in January 2017 to say they thought the video was leaked by ‘someone close to us’.
Faryal said a member of her husband’s family or a disgruntled former employee could have posted the X-rated Skype chat on a porn site.
During an appearance on This Morning at the time, Faryal said: ‘I feel like someone’s done it out of revenge, someone close to us. It’s not necessarily a family member. Amir has fired a lot of people who worked for the company so it could be a worker.’
The British boxing star admitted that the sex tape had ‘upset’ him and also believed that he was betrayed by someone close to him who wanted to inflict maximum pain on him and his wife.
Further claims surrounding Amir and other women

In 2015, former star of The Valleys and Big Brother, Lateysha Grace, claimed she was offered £2,000 by Amir for a foursome in Miami, Florida.
It was also claimed by The Sun that Amir spent the night with former escort Christie Lee Hoyle while Faryal was pregnant in 2013.
At around the same time it was claimed Amir sent Bolton shop owner Clair Nuttall numerous text messages about performing a sex act on him and begging for a threesome.
The sportsman has also been linked with other women including model Natalie Fox and Playboy star Carla Howe.
