A 25-year-old man was shot and hospitalized when gunfire erupted on a Brooklyn MTA bus, police said Wednesday.
The victim was sitting on a B44 bus near the corner of Empire Boulevard and Rogers Ave. in Crown Heights around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday when two men began an argument and at least one shot was fired.
The victim, who was not involved in the discussion, was struck in the buttocks when the bus stopped. EMS rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where he is expected to survive.
The alleged victim, as well as the shooter and a woman with the shooter, climbed onto the bus and disappeared. No arrests have been made. The man and woman are believed to be 19 years old.
There were 75 people on the bus when the shot rang out, police sources said. No one else was injured.
It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting.
Troopers were scouring the area for surveillance footage that could help identify the shooter or his intended victim, troopers said.
