After Xue disappeared pPolice and his family said they had serious concerns because he did not speak English fluently and did not know how to swim.

Thus, an extensive search operation began using the resources of the Marine Area Command, Maritime Rescue and SES.

He was also minimally dressed to survive the elements, wearing only a white T-shirt, a white puffer jacket with two black stripes down the front, black jeans, and black flip-flops.

Marine Rescue NSW inspector Glenn Sullivan said volunteers from Eden and Merimbula resumed a parallel line search at 9am in what were “favourable conditions”.
