Customers at a major Australian bank have reported they have been blocked from accessing the website and app, and staff are working “urgently” to resolve the issue.
Nearly 1,300 people reported problems accessing ING Australia banking services as of midday Tuesday, according to the Down Detector website.
ING said it was “aware that some customers are currently experiencing problems accessing the ING website and app and delays in making and receiving payments.”
‘Our team is working urgently to resolve this issue. “We regret any inconvenience this is causing,” the bank said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Customers wrote on the social media platform that they had been unable to access the ING Australia website and app.
‘Any feedback on your app and website going down would be helpful…when you’re ready. Everything’s fine, I just have bills to pay,’ said one user.
‘Your company only took 4.5 hours to inform us. Greetings for the notice. I guess I can’t expect much better from ING… I guess it’s time to switch to a real bank.’
‘Website and app down…….! “I can’t seem to access or log in to make transactions,” said another.

ING said it was aware of the problem.
‘So there are no attempts to notify that all banks are down and we can’t make any transactions?’ one wrote.
‘What’s happening with your online banking website? It’s been down all morning, and it’s not mentioned here? Bad service,” said one customer.
While the bank had responded to individual messages on its X account, as of 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, no statement had been issued on the bank’s profile page.
More to come.
