An influencer has sparked a heated conversation about food safety after sharing her one-pan Thanksgiving recipe.

Kate Heintzelman from Minnesota has amassed more than 338,000 followers by sharing her cooking tips on Instagram.

But she left many people scratching their heads after she revealed the “life-saving” hack that will save her time preparing her Thanksgiving meal in an Instagram video posted last week.

The food guru explained that she plans to prepare the meat and all the side dishes together in one huge tray, but her method didn’t go over well with some of her followers.

Many people condemned her technique in the comments section, claiming it would put her guests at risk of food poisoning.

In the now viral videoKate was seen placing a raw and unwashed chicken into an aluminum pan.

She then prepared a slew of popular Thanksgiving side dishes, such as sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, corn and mashed potatoes, in the same dish.

Then the social media star drizzled the bird with oil and placed butter throughout the pan.

The video then transitioned to the final product, which showed the bird browned and roasted and the various side dishes all cooked.

She didn’t indicate how long she baked it or at what temperature.

“One pot Thanksgiving dinner is a lifesaver,” she captioned the clip, which has been viewed more than seven million times.

But it was met with fierce criticism, with one user criticizing Kate for not seasoning the food properly, while another claimed the raw meat ‘contaminated’ the other products.

“It gives food poisoning,” one person said in the comments section.

“What in all a thousand ways to die is this?” someone else asked.

“Call the police,” another user joked.

A fourth said: ‘Nasty. You did not clean the (chicken) properly or season it properly.”

During a conversation with the New York Post About the reaction, Kate insisted it was completely safe.

‘So you can’t add chicken to anything? You put a roast in a slow cooker with potatoes,” she fired back at her haters.

“Are you telling me you can’t eat the potatoes because at some point they touched the raw meat?” That makes no sense to me.

“There could be a hundred people telling you to rinse your chicken. Then when you rinse your chicken, people say, “Why are you rinsing your chicken?”

The cooking expert stuck to her one-pot recipe, insisting that the food was all “amazing” and that she’ll still be using it for Thanksgiving this week.

“I want a whole Thanksgiving dinner, and if it’s just me and two or three other people, and there’s a hundred pans to make everything… I thought, ‘What if we throw it all in one pan?’ explained.

“The potatoes were a little burnt, but everything else was fine.”
