An influencer died after reportedly choking on dinner and going into cardiac arrest in front of her horrified family.
Carol Acosta, 27, known online as Killadamente, was eating at a New York restaurant on Saturday before the tragedy occurred.
The mother-of-two’s younger sister Khatyan confirmed her death in an Instagram post shared with her 130,000 followers that showed the couple smiling while on a plane.
“I love you sister and I will always love you,” she captioned the heartbreaking tribute.
‘I thank God for giving me a sister like you with your big heart. Rest in peace my sister.’
She added in a tearful video, with tears streaming down her face: ‘To all the people who send me messages of condolence, I want to thank you very much for being there and for your support. And thank you also for supporting my sister while she was still alive.’
Acosta’s family has not yet received autopsy results, but it is believed that he died of suspected cardiopulmonary arrest after choking while eating.
A cousin of the Dominican-born content creator was quoted overnight as saying: “I know everyone wants to know what happened, but we’re still not too sure and we’re waiting for the post-mortem results.”

‘All I know is that she was eating dinner normally and she started choking and having trouble breathing. She had some kind of seizure, they took her to the hospital, but they couldn’t save her.’
The social media star’s 6.6 million followers quickly flooded the comments sections of her recent post with heartfelt tributes.
One said: ‘You don’t know the pain this news has caused all of us who have been here from the beginning.’
Another added: ‘Tell me what they say out there is not true.’
A third commented: “Can’t believe it, still hoping it’s fake.”
One more said: ‘Your departure hurts me, you have taught us to love our bodies just the way they are.’
Acosta was known for posting body-positive content and sharing motivational messages against body stereotypes.
She herself had publicly reported having suffered bullying as a child because of her weight.
The internet sensation released a song in 2017 titled ‘Me Amo y No Me Importa’, which in English translates to ‘I love myself and I don’t care.’
The song began: ‘I’m different, and they call me Killadamente. Even if I fall, I suddenly get up, I’m brave, I’m a little arrogant. I take great care of myself because I am the one who defends myself.’

The internet sensation had more than 6.6 million followers on Instagram.
Following his sudden death, Acosta tragically leaves behind two young daughters, Reina and Legend.
In a video post just a day before her death, the influencer said while posing in a tight black dress and makeup, “I always thought God had his favorites because there are people who eat and don’t get fat.” .
‘But looking at me properly, you’re telling me, someone who doesn’t have extensions and hasn’t had any cosmetic surgery when I look like this!!’ I’m on that favorites list and no one is going to convince me otherwise.’
An online family statement read: ‘On January 3 our beloved Carolar, better known as Killadamente, passed away.
‘The Acosta González family shares their pain with everyone who knew them.
‘At her young age she managed to help thousands of people through her work but on this occasion we unite and ask for your help so that she has the farewell she deserves.
“If it is within your means, we would appreciate a contribution, however small, to help cover the funeral costs and help his family and children overcome this enormous loss.”
