Footage emerged of a teacher accused of dressing up, performing a classroom dance in front of male students.

Chelsea Jane Edwards, 28, who teaches at Indooroopilly State Secondary School in south-east Queensland, faces two counts of grooming and one count of indecent treatment of a child under 16.

Police allege that she began grooming a boy starting in July of last year after they allegedly met socially outside of school.

The clip of Ms Edwards shows her at the school, where she works as a sports coordinator, dancing to a rap song about having a “killer body” and holding a student’s hand before performing a squat with her back to the camera.

Photos posted online also allegedly show Ms. Edwards standing on the student’s arm, or very close, in three locations during August, November and December.

A former student told the mail the video has been circulating among Indooroopilly students.

Ms Edwards, who resides in Paradise Point, south-east of Brisbane, was charged on March 10 following a complaint filed with the police.

It is understood that he has been out since February.

Police will allege that Ms. Edwards sent a photograph of the boy last September, which constitutes the indecent act charge.

On Tuesday, Chief Executive Michael Hornby wrote to the school community to address the ‘allegations of a serious nature’.

In the letter, Mr. Hornby assured the school community that they would provide support during the ordeal.

“First of all, I want to assure you that we treat the safety and well-being of our children, our students, as our highest priority at all times,” he wrote.

While I appreciate your desire to understand the details of this matter, I am sure you will understand that I cannot go into detail for legal reasons.
