A man is in a serious condition after being set on fire during an iconic annual event that attracts thousands of revelers to the small rural town of Deniliquin, New South Wales, near the Victorian border.
Police are appealing for information from the public after emergency services were called to a camping area at the ‘Deni Ute Muster’ following reports that a man had caught fire.
A 22-year-old man was found with significant burns to his face after being set on fire by another man who tried to ignite an aerosol nearby.
He was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Victoria where he remains in a serious condition.
