Indiana Jones 5 Release Date Shared, Harrison Ford Says Filming Nearly Complete

This week the first look and release date of the new Indiana Jones movie was shared.

An image of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones wearing his famous hat was seen on Thursday as light entered a cave at the Star Wars Celebration at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

And the release date was also announced: the fifth installment of the action-adventure franchise will be on June 30, 2023.

Ford confirmed that Indiana Jones 5 is “almost complete”.

The 79-year-old actor, who plays the titular archaeologist in the long-running franchise, is “really proud” of the film and has recounted how he had a “wonderful experience” teaming up with the director.

Speaking during a surprise appearance at the Star Wars Celebration at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, on Thursday, he said: “We’ve almost completed the next Indiana Jones movie, with the music by John Williams.”

‘And I had a wonderful experience working with James Mangold, with Kathy and Frank again. I’m very proud of the film we made. Then I’ll be seeing you around campus.’

The film does not yet have an official title attached.

The 79-year-old Hollywood icon made a cameo appearance in the middle of a Lucasfilm presentation.

The Oscar-nominated actor, famous for playing Han Solo in the Star Wars films, made his entrance when famed composer and conductor John Williams led an orchestra to play the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme, entertainment weekly informed.

Thursday’s event was the convention’s first in-person gathering since 2019, as the venue was packed with Star Wars fans wearing costumes of popular characters from the franchise.

Ford told fans: “It’s a special honor for me to be able to congratulate John on his 90th birthday. I told John on another occasion when we had the opportunity to be together that that music follows me wherever I go.

‘And you know what? I’m happy about that. That music was playing on the speakers in the operating room when I had my last colonoscopy… I passed.’

Ford spoke kindly of the legendary composer, telling the crowd, “We’re almost done with the next Indiana Jones movie, with the music of John Williams.”

Other notable appearances at the start of the four-day reunion included Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen in front of a choir singing Duel of the Fates.

Yvette Nicole Brown served as moderator for the panel, which featured discussions of upcoming projects like Skeleton Crew, Andor, and Willow.

The next Indiana Jones movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 30, 2023.
