Indian player reported on possible suspicious bowling action

Associated Press

SYDNEY (AP) – India-batsman and part-time offspinner Ambati Rayudu has been reported for a suspicious bowling action during his one-day international match against Australia in Sydney on Saturday.

The International Cricket Council said Sunday that Rayudu's action was quoted by match officials after he had thrown two overs for numbers from 0-13 in the series opener, which won Australia with 34 runs.

The 33-year-old Rayudu must undergo testing within 14 days, but can continue to bow until the results of the tests are known, according to the ICC.

Should he fail the independent biomechanical tests, Rayudu is confronted with the suspension of bowling in international cricket until he can correct his action.

Rayudu, who stopped with first-class cricket at the end of last year to focus on limited-overs cricket, has played 46 ODI & # 39; s and six T20 internationals for India.
