Police said the girl was repeatedly raped by the men until she fainted on August 14 in the Gaya district in Bihar, Eastern India.

A villager saw her the day after the attack and told her family – who took her home.

An initial information report was prepared at the local police station on Monday, 11 days after the rape.

Reportedly, the police only arrived after the victim and her mother contacted the district's senior officer on Saturday.

Officer Niranjana Kumari said that six people were arrested.
