Anyone nervous about getting on board should take note of the company that built it: Triton Submarines. He knows a thing or two about underwater craft, having built the Limiting Factor submersible that made an unprecedented dive to the deepest point in the planet’s oceans, Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench: 35,853 feet (10,927 m) below the surface.

Florida-based Triton boasted that DeepView 24 is “the most important commercial tourism submersible to come to market in the last two decades.”

“Designed to remain stable on the surface of the water, the Triton DeepView 24 allows easy entry and exit for passengers and enhances the safety of support personnel operating in the water.

“The generous access hatch makes it even easier to get in and out of the sub, even for passengers with limited mobility.

“Virtually silent, totally non-polluting and with no carbon emissions or effluents, the Triton DeepView 24, like all submersibles, has zero environmental impact or footprint. It was developed in response to increased demand from travelers and tourists for vacations based on adventure and experience.’

Triton added: “While the submarine was built by the Triton team in Barcelona and was first delivered to Vietnam in April 2020, the pandemic delayed the official launch until now.”
