Long has thanked Arbaugh for saving his son’s life. ‘We couldn’t be more grateful to Becky. “She saved my son’s life,” she said.

But Arbaugh doesn’t see herself as a hero but simply as a mother who saw another mother who needed help.

‘I’m just a mom helping a mom. I didn’t do anything different than what others should do,’ she insisted.

‘I knew what that was like and I heard it and felt it instantly and I had to go help her because I knew it’s painful. You feel so helpless as a mother when that happens.’
