This is the heart-stopping moment a Florida sheriff’s deputy brought a baby to life on the side of the road after a devastating car crash.

Deputy Sgt. Dave Musgrove came across the catastrophic accident along a main road in Englewood, about 50 miles north of Fort Myers, around 7:37 p.m. on February 8.

Dashboard and body camera footage shows the hero officer rushing to the scene, rescuing a child from the wrecked car and calling for help from a member of the public before returning to the wreckage.

The shocking footage shows Musgrove pulling the second baby, named Lola Foley, from the crushed vehicle and carrying the unconscious child in her car seat to the side of the road.

After performing chest compressions while calming the children’s distraught mother, Kayleigh Foley, the baby finally inhales and Musgrove detects a pulse.

Deputy Sgt. Dave Musgrove came across the catastrophic accident along a main road in Englewood, about 50 miles north of Fort Myers, around 7:37 p.m. on February 8.

Dashboard and body camera footage shows the hero officer rushing to the scene and rescuing a child from the wrecked car.

Footage shows Musgrove removing the baby from the crushed vehicle and carrying him in his car seat to the side of the road.

The Foleys’ vehicle had been struck by a motorcycle traveling more than 100 miles per hour, a collision that killed the motorcyclist.

‘My baby, no! She’s there,’ Kayleigh could be heard shouting from the car as Musgrove approached in the moments after the accident.

“My baby, I need my baby,” the mother can be heard screaming desperately as Musgrove worked to free the trapped car seat.

‘Is she dead, please? Is she dead?’ Kayleigh then pleads on the side of the road.

The hero officer called for support from emergency medical services, but was forced to begin life-saving treatment before they arrived on the scene.

The mother and her two children are expected to recover, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

The baby, named Lola, has regained some mobility in her legs and arms since she was hospitalized after the accident, although she has continued to have frequent seizures, her grandfather, Tim Foley, told CBS.

Lola is largely back to her normal self, her grateful family says, and Sgt. Musgrove has since reunited with her, after he was asked to become the baby’s honorary uncle.

“It was a miracle that the officer was there, witnessed the accident and got to her right away,” Lisa Foley, the baby’s grandmother, told the station.

‘Is she dead, please? Is she dead?’ The mother (pictured in white) is heard pleading on the side of the road as the officer performs chest compressions on her unresponsive son.

After performing chest compressions while calming the child’s distraught mother, the baby finally inhales and Musgrove detects a pulse.

The hero MP called for support from emergency medical services but was forced to begin life-saving treatment before they arrived.

‘The actions of Sgt. “Musgrove are to be commended,” Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummel said in a statement.

‘His poise and calm demeanor in a scene of chaos and tragedy ultimately saved the life of a beautiful child.

“This was a senseless accident that resulted in the loss of one life, but it would have been two lives if Dave hadn’t been there.

Adding: “Still, I offer my thoughts and prayers to the friends and family of the motorcyclist and ask that you keep this mother and her children in your prayers.”
