The next generation took center stage at Augusta on Wednesday, upstaging their parents and grandparents during the annual Masters Par 3 contest.

Golf stars past and present gathered for the iconic challenge, which serves as a backdrop before the first major of the year.

The Par 3 Contest offers players’ families the opportunity to join them on the course and even steal the spotlight.

On Wednesday at Augusta, it was Ben Crenshaw’s grandson, dressed in the iconic white jumpsuit and green cap, who provided a moment to remember on the Georgia greens.

Crenshaw won the Masters in 1984 and again 11 years later. And it seems the 72-year-old has passed down his talents from generation to generation.

In front of hordes of patrons at Augusta, the young Crenshaw stepped up to make a monster putt, stretching almost from one edge of the green to the other.

With the guidance of Bubba Watson, who helped the young man line up the putt and move the putt head back and forth.

After sending the ball on its way, the young man chased his ball as he ran down the hill toward the hole.

After he fell, the crowd around the hole erupted in celebration, as did Crenshaw’s grandson.

He high-fived and fist-bumped the other caddies and even applauded his own achievement.

He has good genes! the announcer said. The notable putt came shortly after Watson’s daughter, Dakota, holed a putt from a nearly identical position.
