The competition will be held this year in Liverpool (Northern England), after the United Kingdom offered to host it instead of Ukraine, which won the last round and was supposed to host the event, but the war on its soil prevented that.
Belgium and Australia succeeded in qualifying for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held this year in Liverpool (north of England), and Iceland failed to reserve a place for it in the finals of the competition that will be held next Saturday.
On Thursday evening, 16 countries competed in the second competition, the semi-final qualifiers, and 10 countries qualified for the final.
The United Kingdom had offered to host the competition instead of Ukraine, which won the last round and was supposed to host the event, but the war on its territory prevented that.
The ten countries are Albania, Cyprus, Estonia, Belgium, Austria, Lithuania, Poland, Australia, Armenia and Slovenia along with Ukraine, last year’s winner and the “Big Five”.
The “Big 5” are the main sponsors of the competition i.e. France, UK, Spain, Germany and Italy who automatically qualify for the final.
The number of competitors in the final stage on Saturday will be 26 countries.

Ellen Yermian, the black Armenian singer, stunned the audience by performing her song “Future Lover”, written and composed by her, in the second round of the evening.
The Belgian Gustave presented the song “Because of You” .. This song was enough reason to make you dance.

Joker Out from Slovenia performed one of the best songs, “Carpe Diem”, and although their chances of winning the main competition are weak, it is fun.
Tribute to Ukraine
The European Broadcasting Union indicated that the closing ceremony of the competition will witness a tribute to Ukraine, with the presence of 11 Ukrainian artists on the stage, including the Kalush band, which won last year’s session. During the evening, video clips from different Ukrainian regions will be shown.
Liverpool raises the curtain on a memorial that is a “symbol of hope” for Ukraine.
Russia was excluded from the competition, as it was last year, due to its invasion of Ukraine.
