Ryan Seacrest served as the series’ longtime host and has been with the show since its premiere.
Berry has recently been the subject of controversy over her treatment of former contestant Sarah Beth Libby, who appeared on the 21st season of the current show.
The singer, who was the target of comment about her status as a young mother, eventually withdrew from the programme.
