In 2024, Dave Portnoy believes Biden would be a better choice than Trump.

Date:

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy said Wednesday that he would not support a ‘divisive’ Donald Trump if he ran for the 2024 presidential election – adding that he would instead – albeit reluctantly – favor incumbent Joe Biden.

“Those are two bad choices for me,” said Portnoy, 45, when asked who to vote in the upcoming presidential race during a sit-down session Wednesday with Canadian comedy group The Nelk Boys on the Full Send podcast.

“Trump and Biden are both bad choices,” Portney told hosts Jesse Sebastiani and Bob Minery.

Then the Barstool chief – who is commonly referred to as El Presidente – commented that he is “more Trump than that”. “Because I think it would be divisive.”

Like, on purpose, Portney continued, referring to Trump. “Like, they’re divisive on purpose and that’s their audience.”

In this country, whatever you think of him and his politics, I think he’s got a bad name for a lot of things, but it doesn’t matter. It’s a broken mind.

Dave Portnoy said Wednesday he would not support a “divisive” Donald Trump if he ran for the 2024 presidential election — a stark shift from Barstool’s embattled endorsement of the former president.

Host Bob Minery asked Portnoy Wednesday who he would prefer in a virtual matchup between former president and current head of state Joe Biden

Portnoy's assertion, whose Boston outpost is critical of liberal media in general, and plugged Trump into the presidency during his campaign, prompted a response from Sebastiani, who pointed out the points the Barstool chief made to pro-Trump outlets like Fox News.

Portnoy’s assertion, whose Boston post is generally critical of the liberal media and delivered Trump for president during his campaign elicited a response from Sebastiani, who pointed out the points the Barstool chief made on pro-Trump outlets like Fox News.

“What do you get on Fox News then?” Sebastani asked.

Portnoy flatly replied, “A huge audience.” “I like what I get when I go to the NELK Boys—a huge crowd.”

Portnoy opposition, Known for meeting Trump in the Oval Office in 2020 for a highly publicized interview, it was a stark change for the former Barstool founder for the controversial head of state, suggesting the couple’s relationship has since soured.

In 2015, during Trump’s first presidential bid, Portnoy penned an article in Barstool titled “I’m Officially Voting for Donald Trump”.

In the article, the Barstool chief stated his reasons for supporting the Republican nominee over competitors such as Hillary Clinton and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

‘There I said it,’ Portnoy wrote at the time, referring to the inaugural headline that was eye-catching.

I vote for Donald Trump. I don’t care if it’s a joke. I don’t care if it’s racist. I don’t care if it’s sexist. I don’t care about any of it. I hope he stays in the race and I hope he wins. Why? Because I like the fact that it makes other politicians confuse.

Portnoy added, “I love the fact that he says shit and no one else will ever say it no matter how ridiculous it is.”

In the article, Portney — who is said to be worth around $80 million — gave more reasons to vote for Trump, stating that it would not affect his daily life and the bureaucracy of career politicians.

Portnoy wrote: Let’s be honest. My daily life will not change that much no matter who gets elected.

Our government is so overworked that nothing can be done no matter who is the president. All we get every 4 years are phony and hypocritical politicians pointing fingers at each other and blaming everything on everyone else.

“Every 4 years the politicians will say ‘Are you tired of business as usual’ and then nothing changes and they do it again at the next election.

Well at least Trump is entertaining and says funny things. He’s like a one-man in real-life politics, and that’s the best you can hope for at this point,” Portnoy remarked, before offering the future president’s approval.

“Trump 2016 4 is real,” he wrote.

In the years since, Portnoy has emerged, through Barstool and comments made on social media, as one of the key figures at the helm of the burgeoning youth conservatism movement in the United States.

In 2021, supporters of former President Trump turned on the Barstool boss, however, calling him a ‘traitor’ after it was revealed that he had dinner with then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, whose popular platform deactivated the controversial politician’s account.

People were so angry, Portnoy said in an interview with Trump supporters at the time. They’re like, “You’re a traitor.” People are always very political – I always say I’m not political, but people refuse to believe it. But they are angry, Trump fans, because he kicked Trump off Twitter.

The couple has not been photographed together since.

Meanwhile, Portnoy is currently embroiled in another controversy, after launching a relentless legal campaign against news outlet Business Insider over two articles detailing allegations that he violently assaulted women while having sex with them.

Portney adamantly denied all charges against him and sued Insider, its CEO, an editor and two reports after the newspaper published two articles, one in November and one last month, detailing allegations of sexual harassment by six different women.

One woman said the 44-year-old choked her so hard she couldn’t breathe, leaving red marks on her body from being slammed hard on her buttocks and grabbing her ribcage so hard it felt as if her body was squeezing on itself. “.

Two women also accused him of filming them without their consent, strangling them, and spitting on them. Business interested mentioned.
