A man has sparked outrage online after admitting he is falling for his cousin after insisting their chemistry is “off the charts”.

The anonymous man, 35, from Canada, shared his dilemma about Reddit ‘Off my Chest’ Forum at the beginning of this year.

In his post, he explained how he has become increasingly close to his 34-year-old cousin after she moved near his house in 2023.

The man wrote: ‘I think we are falling in love with each other. In fact, if we weren’t related, I’m sure we would have had sex by now. The sexual tension is off the charts.’

Growing up, the couple only saw each other about once a year as they lived in separate countries.

He wrote: ‘We went out once a year when she and her family came to visit. We were close, but grew apart in our late teens.

“We discovered we had less in common and didn’t keep in touch.”

However, the couple became friends when the cousin moved to Canada last year, about an hour from where her relative lives.

He continued: ‘We are both single, of course, and have had multiple relationships, but we haven’t found the one.’

“We started dating again and discovered we have a lot in common.”

The man then went on to say that they now spend “A LOT” of time together and act like a “platonic couple.”

And he added: “We have not said anything to each other or acted according to any feelings.”

However, he did admit that he has ‘fantasized’ about having a sexual relationship with his cousin.

Growing up, the couple only saw each other about once a year as they lived in separate countries, but they became increasingly closer in the past year.

The anonymous man, 35, from Canada, was branded “delusional” by other members of the Reddit forum.

She ended the post by writing, “I wish we weren’t related, it would be so much easier.” But the truth is that we are.

“And I have to find a way to stop this before it gets out of control.”

The post received hundreds of comments from other forum members, with many labeling the man “delusional” for believing his cousin felt the same way about him.

One wrote: ‘Are you sure she feels the same? Here you only talk about your feelings.

‘Could you think you’re getting close to a family member in a country where you might not have many friends?’

Another added: “It’s great that you found someone you connect with.” Now please pursue that with literally anyone else.”

Meanwhile, a third joked: ‘You guys have a lot in common! Like when you say “grandma,” you mean the same person! Don’t do it mate.’

“This guy is delusional,” a fourth responded.

“The amount of men who confuse kindness with flirting/interest is fucking sad,” added a fifth.
