Former Teen Mom UK star Mia Boardman has hit back at those who judge her based on her looks, claiming she’s a bad mum because she likes to party.
The 25-year-old mum-of-one from Southampton claims she is regularly branded a ‘bad mum’ simply because of the clothes she decides to wear and the lifestyle she leads.
With more than 320,000 followers on Instagram, the young single parent is often met with hateful comments and hordes of trolls every time she uploads a new snap.
But she’s keen to spread the word that you should be able to ‘have a life away from being a mum’ and the trolls are wrong.

‘And that makes me a bad mother? People have gone so far as to message me and say my child should be taken away because of the way I am.’
Her daughter Marliya is visiting her dad this weekend – something Mia said the haters seem to forget.
She said: ‘If I’m out every weekend I’m a terrible mum when Marliya is actually at her dad’s house.
‘Life doesn’t stop when you have children, for me it’s just started, but I’m constantly judged because I like to party.
‘Of course you have to make so many sacrifices, but I believe that you should be able to go out and do what you want, as much as you want.
Speaking about teenage mums in general, Mia told the news outlet: ‘I think people judge us because they don’t think we’re good parents.
‘Yes, an older mother has more life experience and maybe more money, but I personally don’t believe that age makes a difference to how good a mother you are.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating being a young mother because you have to sacrifice a lot and you miss out on the normal teenage things. But my view is that Marliya made me.

“So to people who 100 percent want to have a little baby, I wish them all the luck in the world and ignore all the negative stuff, you can be the best mom at 18 and the best mom at 35. I don’t care what Some say.’
It comes as the latest series of Teen Mom UK, the show that catapulted Mia to fame, saw her relationship with Marliya’s father Manley Geddes take a turn for the worst.
Mia explains: ‘I couldn’t have had a baby with someone more opposite. When it’s bad, it’s bad, when it’s good, it’s ok. It drains sometimes’.
Last year, the star also opened up about her experience of domestic violence after her ex-boyfriend Christopher Brooks pinned her to the floor and choked her after she refused to sleep with him.
Brooks, of Court Road, Caterham, Surrey, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm in March 2021.
He and Ms Boardman, who live in Southampton, had remained friends after their one-year relationship ended in February last year.
But Maidstone Crown Court heard things turned ugly when, after spending an afternoon together in June at Brooks’ then home in Sevenoaks, he began questioning her about a man she had dated after they split.
He grabbed her phone and refused to hand it over unless she spent the night with him.
Brooks then told her to swear on her child’s life that she would not continue seeing her new husband.
But when Ms Boardman said she could not make such a promise, Brooks reacted violently.
