An American visiting the UK admitted he didn’t think he would find ‘good food’ in Britain, but was pleasantly surprised.
Kalani Smith, passing by @kalanighhosthunter on TikTok, is an influencer and YouTuber who creates content about paranormal activities – he has almost three million followers on the social media app.
However, since being in the UK, he has also piqued the interest of millions by filming himself trying a variety of different British cuisines – from fish and chips in St. Andrews to a Sunday roast in London.
The American recently hit back at those who criticize British food in the comments of his videos, insisting that the food here is “delicious” – even though most Americans think it is bad.
His video has already been seen by more than 118,000 people and has garnered more than 600 comments.

Kalani told her followers: “Okay we need to (sic) talk here about this feeling about British food.
“If you don’t know me, I’m American and I came to the UK for the first time in January this year.
“Now I’m going to be completely honest with you. I didn’t think I was going to come to the UK and find good food, that’s really not the case.
“What’s important is that I kept an open mind and wanted to try as much as possible before coming to a conclusion.”
He insisted: “Now I’m currently on my second tour here in the UK and what I can tell you is that they have amazing food.
“Is everything I’ve experienced a 10/10? Absolutely not, but that’s not even the case in America.
“I think the rhetoric has been passed down from generation to generation and we all assume the food in the UK is bad because that’s what we’ve been told.
“But as an experienced fat American, what I can tell you is that they have some delicious things.”
Since being in the UK, Kalani has piqued the interest of millions by filming himself trying a variety of different British cuisines – from fish and chips in St. Andrews (left) to a pot roast in Sunday in London (right).
He insisted: “Now I’m currently on my second tour here in the UK and what I can tell you is that they have amazing food.”
Moving on to details, the American revealed: “Now I’ll bring you up to speed: they have a lot of different meats, a lot of different pies, a lot of different meat pies, but there’s a lot more to the food culture here just meat pies.
“And another thing: beans on toast are delicious. You just have to have the right beans, the right toast, and I like to add cheese to it.
He admitted: “I never thought I would say this, but I actually fell in love with the UK and its people.
“I will say it takes a little time for them to get used to you, but once they do, they’re just as nice as people in the American South.
“So next time you want to say all the food in the UK is bad, just go watch a video, because I ate orgasmic food.”
Brits and Americans flooded the comments with their own opinions on British foods.
One fan wrote: “Can’t beat a British sausage. Lincolnshire sausages are absolutely goats (sic) and we have some of the best cheeses in the world.
A second revealed: “I watched a vlog of American YouTubers and she said she couldn’t find good food in the UK because it was all ‘cold meats’. I’m still so confused about this.

Her taste in music, the TV shows she watched and even her celebrity crushes were all British-influenced – so much so that netizens are calling for her to be made an “honorary Brit”.
A TikTok that she posted under her nickname @fa2chainzrevealing its fascination, has already been seen by more than 1.2 million people.
