A vet has revealed five signs your dog really trusts you, from stealing your shoe to sleeping in your room.
Dr Adam Christmanwho regularly shares pet tips with his million followers on TikTok, explained in a recent video how owners can tell if their furry friends trust them.
The New Jersey-based vet said learning his owner’s routine, stealing his clothes and making eye contact are ways a dog confirms his trust in his loved ones.
Revealing the five prompts, Dr. Christman said in his clip: ‘Number one, they learn their routine. When to feed them, when to walk them, when to go to bed, because once you establish your routine, they’ll trust you to stick to your end of the deal.
‘Number two, and this is a thing. They take off your shoe. It has been said that they do so for enduring reasons.

‘Number three is that you understand their body language. Do they lean towards you or walk away but do you respect their boundaries? The more you read their body language, the more they will trust you,” insisted the vet.
He continued: ‘Number four, does he sleep in the room with you or in bed with you? Consider it a gift. They sleep where they feel safe and secure.
Number five is eye contact. One of the ways dogs bond with you is through eye contact. It helps build trust.’
