Sparking controversy in the comments, the cleaning expert said she wouldn’t have a dishwasher. Although she has one, she actively avoids using it
She said: “This is going to be a bit controversial, I personally have one at home but I never use it, they get so dirty they are so hard to clean and I just prefer a bucket of water. “
The expert claimed to have seen thick gunk building up around the edges of the machine and urged her followers to simply use a bucket of water instead.
Offering a few more tips, she said: “What I do with my dishes after cleaning them is pour a kettle of boiling water over them while they’re on the drying rack.”
She added: “They dry in minutes and are sterilized, so you don’t need a dishwasher.”
In the now-viral video, Libby lists five other items she would live without, telling her followers to “absolutely avoid” wooden worktops at all costs, saying they get “grubby” after a few months.
Proposing another controversial approach, the cleaning expert told her followers not to indulge in a freestanding bathtub because it’s impossible to clean behind it and they accumulate a lot of dust.

The cleaning professional explained: “They don’t do anything but pick up dirt and germs, if you have one get rid of it, go get a plastic one
The cleaning expert also warns against using black spiral taps, although they can add aesthetic value to your kitchen, she said: “These spirals just collect dust and dirt. filth, I’m not kidding. These are the hardest to clean faucets in the world.
And finally, she urged her followers to move away from the blind side and said: “I’m sure many of you will agree with me on this.
“They’re dust collectors, that’s all they are, they’re dust collectors.”

Since posting, the video has received over 75,000 likes and hundreds of people have commented and shared their own opinions.
Many users rushed to the comments to defend their dishwasher.
One user remarked: “With dishwashers, most people don’t use them properly. You are supposed to first rinse the plates of the food and then put them in.
Another added: “I personally couldn’t live without my dishwasher. This avoided a lot of arguments over who should do the dishes. Life is so much easier with one.
“I think dishwashers have become essential and save energy and water compared to hand washing,” agreed a third person.
After numerous requests, the cleaning professional uploaded a second video to the app, featuring more difficult-to-clean household items.
She asked her followers to stay away from toilet brushes and rugs in their hallways if they want a cleaner home. But followers were left perplexed, with many asking her how she cleans her toilet.
