A professional cleaner has revealed how to ‘effortlessly’ transform a dirty oven and leave it looking like new without having to scrub it.
Simone, from Remedy for jetlag In New South Wales, use Easy Off heavy duty oven spray and a $5 scraper to remove the thick brown layer of sludge from the glass oven door.
A now-viral TikTok left thousands of Australians in awe of how easily it cut through layers of grime using the two products.
“I’m going to show you how I did a really quick, easy, and effective oven clean with minimal effort. I’m bringing a ‘work smarter, not harder’ vibe,” she said on TikTok.
After spraying the inside of the appliance, she turned it on low heat for 45 minutes and closed the door, letting the product work on the dirt.
She warned that oven spray is “very toxic” and the fumes smell strongly, so she prefers to close the oven door because she is pregnant.
He then scraped off the layers using the $5 glass scraper followed by a quick wipe with a damp cloth.
The oven looked spotlessly clean and free of any meat residue.

The video has since been viewed over 277,000 times, with many thanking Simone for sharing her expert advice.
While thousands of people were amazed by the result, those who had previously used the oven spray were concerned about the smell.
“It works great, but the fumes are unpleasant,” one woman said.
“I hate that oven cleaner, after using it and cleaning my oven I went to cook something and the fumes were so strong it burned my eyes,” another woman agreed.
“You need to burn out the oven before using it for cooking after any cleaning that involved chemicals,” said a third.
She used two products: Easy Off Heavy Duty Oven Spray and a $5 glass scraper from Bunnings (before and after photo)
Others recommended buying the “fumeless” version, which contains fewer chemicals, or an alternative spray such as Selleys BBQ Tough Grease and Grime Cleaner ($7.99) from Bunnings.
One woman found it hard to believe that an oven could get so dirty.
“How did you get to that stage?” he asked.
A home hack guru has also wowed Australians with her one-ingredient hack to transform a dirty oven.
The person behind Grandma’s Tricks and Tips Preheat the oven to 100°C and then place a dishwasher tablet on a baking tray or heat-resistant plate.
Then they pour boiling water over the tablet until it is submerged and place the tray inside the oven, then close the door.
The mixture should bubble for an hour to allow the tablet to properly dissolve, while the steam gently softens the dirt.
After sixty minutes have passed, simply turn off the oven and open the door to allow it to cool, before wiping the inside with a damp cloth or sponge, leaving the oven sparkling clean and smelling fresh.
People were amazed by the results and were eager to try the one-ingredient trick on their own dirty ovens.
“I use dishwasher tablets to soak the dishes I use for baking. I’m amazed at how they come out looking brand new every time. I’m definitely going to try this in the oven,” said one woman.
