A 49-year-old doctor who wowed fans with her youthful appearance has lifted the lid on the natural and inexpensive anti-aging habits she practices daily.
Holistic physician and author Dr. Laura Koniver has over 100,000 followers on TikTok where she shares health tips and resources.
The content creator, known as the ‘intuition doctor’, was asked to share the secret behind her seemingly ageless appearance after revealing that she is almost 50 years old.
In a recent video, he counted down his top seven “holistic anti-aging tips,” and referred to several studies that backed up his advice.
“Anti-aging is really non-accelerated aging,” she explained in the caption.
Dr. Laura Koniver, 49, shared her top seven ‘holistic anti-aging tips’ on TikTok

The content creator, known as the ‘intuition doctor’, shared that she moves her body and receives sunlight every day.
Move your body
Koniver recommends moving your body every day, preferably to the point of shortness of breath.
He explained that exercise will help you keep your muscle mass high, increase your resting metabolic rate, and maintain your bone density as you age.
“You want your core and balance to be good so your quality of life stays high as you age and your activities of daily living can be preserved,” he added.
Koniver noted that if you can’t exercise every day, sweating in a sauna “offers similar longevity benefits.”
get the sunlight
Koniver recommends getting out in the sun every day, which may surprise some considering that UV exposure causes visible signs of aging on the skin.
The doctor referred to a study published in the Journal of Internal Medicine in 2016 stating that avoiding the sun was as dangerous as smoking.
Researchers studied almost 30,000 Swedish women for 20 years and found that non-smokers who avoided sun exposure had a life expectancy similar to smokers in the highest sun exposure group.
Sunlight helps people form vitamin D in the skin, which is vital for healthy bones, teeth, and muscles. It also has a powerful effect on the circadian clock, sleep, and alertness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Koniver shared some of his favorite ways to protect your skin when enjoying the sun in his website. Avoid peak sun hours, use non-nano physically blocking sunscreen, and wear UV-protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses.

Koniver is a leading expert on grounding, which is the practice of touching the earth. She said it’s her “favorite holistic healing modality.”

Koniver stays hydrated by drinking filtered water with added minerals, and takes nearly a dozen supplements a day, including omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, and vitamin D.
Practice grounding
Koniver is an advocate of grounding, which she describes as “just going out there and touching the earth.”
He noted that people can receive sunlight and practice grounding, his favorite holistic healing modality, at the same time.
Some research suggests that grounding can stimulate circulation, support heart and lung functions, reduce cortisol and inflammation, increase metabolism, and deepen sleep.
“All you need to do is touch the ground with your conductive body,” he explained, noting that people generally use their hands or feet.
Koniver added that “just 15 minutes a day makes all the difference.”
Keep hydrated
Another of Koniver’s tips is to stay hydrated, which is linked to healthy aging.
She recommends filtering your water before you drink it, even if you have a well.
“Groundwater has measurable amounts of BPA, antibiotics, pesticides, and all sorts of other toxic stuff you don’t want,” he explained. ‘So filter your drinking water.’
Koniver noted that he likes to add mineral drops to remineralize the filtered water.

The doctor said that she also prioritizes sleep and referred to a study published in Nature Cell Biology that found that collagen repairs itself while we rest

Koniver’s final piece of advice was to tune into your creative side “to keep the energy flowing through you.”
take supplements
Koniver shared that he takes nearly a dozen supplements that he considers “very important to support the aging process.”
“It’s almost impossible to get sufficient amounts of some of these nutrients through diet alone,” he explained.
The doctor rattled off a list of supplements she takes daily, including omega-3 fatty acids, glutathione, curcumin, magnesium, pomegranate, and vitamin D.
She also takes L-theanine, CBD oil, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), and DopaPlus to help her relax and sleep.
prioritize sleep
There is restful sleep, according to Koniver.

“Anti-aging is really non-accelerated aging,” says Koniver.
The doctor referred to a study published in cell biology of nature who found that collagen repairs itself while we sleep.
Collagen is a protein that serves as the main building block of your skin, but your body produces less as you age.
Your existing collage also decays at a faster rate as it ages, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Koniver explained that lack of sleep has been linked to mood disorders, accelerated aging, and weight gain.
He advised that people with sleep problems try CBD oil, melatonin, L-theanine, or light therapy to improve their sleep.
“If you ground yourself and move your body every day and get sunlight every day like we talked about, that should really help you sleep,” he added.
nourish your creativity
Koniver’s last piece of advice was to tune into your creative side.
She believes that we need to ‘express our energetic body’ in the same way that we need to move to keep our physical body in peak condition.
“I really encourage you to have some way to create, to bring new energy through your system,” he said. ‘For me it is painting, [but] no matter what it is to you.
Koniver noted that you can do anything as long as you’re creating something “that is independent of financial gain.”
This includes writing, drawing, journaling, photography, singing, cooking, sewing, dancing, or creating art.
He concluded that you just need to create something ‘to keep the energy flowing through you’.
