A flight attendant has revealed three annoying habits that she believes should be declared “illegal” when traveling by plane.
Dallas-based flight attendant Cher Killough, who has worked in the industry for five years, recently took to TikTok to call out poor in-flight etiquette, including three of the things that bother her most about passengers.
According to Cher, the most irritating behavior is “manspreading” or, more specifically, “manspreading when you’re in the middle seat.”
According to the Oxford Dictionary, manspreading refers to “the practice by which a man adopts a sitting position with his legs wide apart, in such a way that he encroaches on an adjacent seat,” especially on public transportation.
Calling this behavior “unacceptable” on her TikTok, Cher said: “I’ve been a passenger, and have had it on numerous occasions, where men extend their knees to the bottom of my seat or the person on the other side.”
‘It is simply unacceptable.
‘It’s always the lowest ones who do it!’ she continued. “I’m 5ft 8in, so if I take up just my seat section, then you, as a 5ft 6in little guy, can definitely do the same.”
Cher also claimed that “smelling like anything” during a flight was inconsiderate of other passengers.
Dallas flight attendant Cher Killough revealed three annoying habits that should be declared “illegal” when traveling by plane.
“It’s already an environment where people are prone to nausea, so having an additional fragrance on top of that is not a good combination.”
“But if I had to choose one, I would definitely choose someone’s perfume over someone’s body odor, because sometimes that happens to us,” she clarified.
Lastly, Cher added, taking off your shoes and walking barefoot on the plane was a big no-no.
“You really need to go to jail if you go to the bathroom with your bare toes,” he continued.
‘I see this all the time and it should be illegal and I generally don’t want to see your bare feet at all. Wear shoes or socks.
The clip, which racked up more than 7,000 views, was titled: “Don’t be mad at the cabin fragrance!” Some people are extremely sensitive to smells (I’m people)’
Cher’s clip sparked a lively discussion in the comments section, and several people agreed with her advice.
One TikTok user noted, “When the guy opens up in half, I go as big as possible until they get the hint.”

Another added: “If a man opens up I just put my legs against him.” It will eventually move and retract.
Someone else added: “If he reaches out I will too and now I’m making things awkward by touching our legs.”
A fourth added: ‘Thank you for this… I’m quite a frequent traveler and have a hypersensitivity to fragrances.
“One time a woman tried to clean our shared armrest with a scented wipe.”
Last December, a frequent flyer caused a stir online after sharing a video of a fellow airline passenger taking “manspreading to a new level.”
Claire Zhu, 27, became known for traveling with her boyfriend Peter Ovendorf, 29, from Charlotte, North Carolina, after the two said goodbye to their nine-to-five life and hit the road with a plan to travel the world. .
And while they’ve seen their fair share of passengers disobey travel etiquette, one man took it to new levels when he spread his legs across the aisle and near Claire’s seat.
In a viral video, which has racked up more than 3.6 million views, Claire showed how the man in the row in front of her was sitting.
She captioned the clip: “Bye.”
At the beginning of the video, Claire was surprisingly shown covering her mouth, with text overlaid that read: “The way this man took manspreading to ANOTHER LEVEL on my flight.”
He then pointed the camera at his legs to show that the man had extended his leg into the hallway.
His leg was extended so far that it even crossed his seat.
People flooded the comments section and expressed their anger, with one user admitting, “I would go crazy” if someone did this to them.
Another user commented: ‘I suddenly had to get up really hard to go to the bathroom!’
Someone else wrote: “That’s not a man expanding, but literally dividing.”
