We are real life fairies – we have “spectacular” powers and knew we were different from a very young age
Two fairies in human form have revealed how they learned they were “different” from other people.
Cornwall-based Karen Kay and fellow real-life fairy Tish McKinley spoke to This Morning presenters – and initiated Alison Hammond into their magic circle in a whimsical ceremony.
The pair explained the intricacies of their supernatural existence, opening up about how they first came to know their talents.
“I’ve known him since very, very young,” Karen revealed.
“So when I was little, I used to spend time in my grandmother’s garden.

“She would prune her roses, I would collect all the petals, put them in a little jar and leave what I thought was perfume for the flower fairies.
“It was actually rose water, but it was still taken every night, so before I even knew what a fairy was.
“I lived them when I was very young and they stayed with me.”
Plus, Karen says she’s also part mermaid.
Meanwhile, Tish McKinley added that she grew up in the US but told viewers her grandfather’s mother was from Ireland – explaining a leprechaun kept her alive.
She says “you just know” if you are a fairy.
“You’ll just know something’s wrong,” she added. “There is just something spectacular and different.”
The duo then inducted Alison as a fairy ambassador to the human realm, swearing her to spread light, love, laughter and joy as they presented her with wings, a crown and a wand. under the gaze of Dermot O’Leary.

Toads and a fog machine created for a picturesque backdrop to this heartwarming moment.
Addressing non-believers, Tish said “you didn’t know giraffes until you saw one”, while Karen compared the creatures to love – something that can be felt without being seen.
The two are behind the 3 Wishes Fairy Festival, which takes place at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park in Cornwall from June 16-18.
And excitingly, next year it will offer “three magical days and nights” at Glastonbury.
Meanwhile, Tish McKinley added that she grew up in the US but told viewers her grandfather’s mother was from Ireland – explaining a leprechaun kept her alive.
Describing the event – which has music, activities and even a mermaid lagoon – Karen said: “If you can imagine yourself stepping into a real wonderland fairy kingdom, this is it.”
She also said that the fairies form a magical ring around the festival to ensure that all attendees are protected and have a good time.
On her Instagram, Karen often shares behind-the-scenes snaps of her whimsical lifestyle, as well as videos of card readings from a mystical fairy deck.
