Recently, the 29-year-old took to the video-sharing platform to provide an explanation on how to identify the stages of romance through PowerPoint.
I divided the schedule into categories: the talking phase, the dating phase, and then a solid, committed relationship
First, Charlotte showed a piece of paper that broke down the stages of dating.
If you’re actively going on dates with someone, that’s it for dating. “It’s not about her boyfriend/girlfriend,” she said, before showing a more structured electronic version of the chart on her laptop.
I divided the schedule into categories: the talking phase, the dating phase, and then a steady, committed relationship.
The dating expert explained that you and your partner are boyfriend/girlfriend once you have a “defining relationship conversation”.
She added, “If you’re actively going on dates with someone and they’re dating you’re not in a relationship, you’re not a boyfriend/girlfriend.”
Charlotte then offered synonyms for words to use once the conversation took place, including “in a relationship,” “together,” and “partner.”
Under the “talk” part of her graph, she described it as: “The window of time before the first date. If (you) met on (dating) apps, communication might only be via text.
She explained that “talk” is used to categorize the time leading up to a first date.
Under the “dating” umbrella, Charlotte explained, this stage is broken down into three subcategories: attraction (which is defined as one to three dates), compatibility (which involves three or more dates), and a right fit (which is between “six to 30 weeks” of going on dates).

‘Thank you!! I’m tired of people saying they haven’t been in a relationship in years. One user said it reduces the months you spend dating one or the other.
And while many social media users were on Charlotte’s side, others called it a mistake, and agreed with Montaigne instead.

Someone wrote: So angry at being so wrong. Dating someone long term means any boyfriend/girlfriend. It’s not just the first stage of the few dates you meet.
Another user added, “You’re literally wrong. I’m sorry to say but if you said ‘I’m dating someone’, I would fully expect you two to be in a committed relationship.”
Another person wrote: “Dating is a boyfriend/girlfriend.”
Added one social media user, “It’s crazy because I literally thought everyone thought dating was the same thing as being in a relationship lol what.
