I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! Star Denise Drysdale has reportedly been locked in a secret feud with presenter Julia Morris for many years.

A TV source told WhatsNew2Day Australia the pair have not been on good terms since working together on Channel Nine’s IMT: In Melbourne Tonight in 1996-1997.

The source claimed Network Ten had to do “very strategic planning” to have the two women on the same show.

“Viewers would be surprised to know that these two women had problems in the past,” the former Channel Nine producer said.

“Julia was just starting out on TV and Denise felt like she wasn’t grateful enough for the advice she was giving her.”

“It was a clash of personalities from day one and (host) Frankie J. Holden felt really uncomfortable every week as they tried to outdo each other.”

The source claimed Denise, 75, used to be the only “barrel girl against Graham Kennedy, Bert Newton, Ernie Sigley and Daryl Somers until Julia, 55, joined the show.”

“I think Denise felt like she could be the big sister to the new comedian,” they added.

“However, Julia was determined to run her own race and the women never kept in touch once the show was cancelled.”

‘They are both quite similar. They love to make exaggerated and loud jokes. “Very visual, very silly and something that was more common in those late-night show formats,” the source said.

“Some would say that Denise has had more success with that style of humor and Julia should have taken more note of the path Denise had created for upcoming female comics.”

The source also claimed that a setup was made for Denise's entry into the jungle that included the two at IMT, but it was quickly removed.

The pair also reportedly had no conversations before Denise arrived on the show.

“In fact, Julia mocked the National Treasure by imitating her famous go-go dance from the 60s,” they added.

“They are both professionals and viewers would have to look closely to see the residual hate, but believe me, these two women can’t stand each other.”
