Outraged, I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! Australian viewers slammed the series for an “impossible challenge” during Tuesday’s episode of the show.

Several fans said the “impossible” and “ridiculous” task led them to turn off the show entirely.

The 11th season of the celebrity survival game show was quickly criticized by viewers on Sunday during its premiere episode.

The 2025 cast, including reality stars Reggie Bird, Matty Johnson, Samantha Moitzi and Tina Provis, footballer Zach Tuohy, comedian Geraldine Hickey, TV presenter Nicky Buckley, Olympian Shayna Jack, veteran radio Dave ‘Hughsey’ Hughes and UK internet personality Max Balegde. – were labeled “nobodies”, while presenters Robert Irwin and Julia Morris were criticized as “unfunny”.

‘Can someone come pick up his nanna from the jungle please?’ IAC’s official Instagram account captioned a clip of Max, 26, doing the challenge.

The 26-year-old TikToker is seen hanging over a crocodile and hippo infested canyon in South Africa while holding a basketball.

Contestants had to walk on an ultra-thin beam, suspended 95 meters in the air over crocodile-filled waters, where they had to try to throw a basketball into a hoop.

In a previous challenge, contestants had to jump from the same ledge, using harnesses, and grab onto a hanging target.

“Just make sure if I screw up, they turn off the cameras, Julia (Morris),” Max, who is very afraid of heights, told the longtime host.

It’s shaking. “His hands are shaking,” said co-host Robert Irwin.

“Just five minutes ago he was lying on the ground, now he’s on the table.”

Max, having faced his fear of heights during the first challenge so as not to “let anyone down,” exclaimed, “What are we doing back here?!”

Matty J also struggled and missed the basket, telling his fellow contestants that the challenge is “very difficult.”

After no one took a single shot, the Bachelor alum had to do it a third time and was also forced to wear fins.

Matty J agreed, telling the camp they were “devastated.”

‘Justice for Max!!!’ TikToker podcast co-host George Clark commented, with viewers calling the ‘nanny’ caption a little harsh.

“He was so brave,” one viewer commented.

“This game is enough to make me stop watching the show,” someone else wrote.

‘This game was literally an absolute blast!’ said another. ‘I’d like to see them post the test pictures of whoever tried it, getting it multiple times, both in the yellow zone and the green zone and with fins!’

‘How ridiculous? How many tests did they do? Almost as if the game was designed for them to fail,” added another upset viewer.

‘Come on guys, this was an absolutely ridiculous and impossible challenge to do!! Testing, destroying!! Not even Michael Jordan could do this!’

‘This challenge is ridiculous! This is too difficult! It’s not funny!’

Max, who has 3.6 million followers on TikTok, has received an outpouring of love and support from both his UK and Australian fans.

Viewers of the series said they really appreciated that Max was so “real” and expressed his fears and talked about the experience like a “normal person” would.

Viewers called the challenge “ridiculous”, “not funny” and an “absolute stunt”.

Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed the show, which features celebrities living in the jungle with few amenities, was not expected to return last year.

According to an inside source, host Julia Morris told a close friend that she wasn’t sure the show would air again until Robert Irwin found out about the series.

The addition of Wildlife Warrior to the reality show after former co-host Dr Chris Brown jumped to Channel Seven revitalized the series.

The source went on to say that ITV Australia, the company that produces I’m A Celeb, came on board to keep the show on the schedule, citing Robert, 21, among the show’s strengths.

While IAC UK’s most recent series attracted 9 million viewers per episode in November 2024, the Australian series so far has middling ratings.

Monday night’s episode of IAC Australia attracted a total of 1,446,000 viewers, making it the eighth most-watched program in the country.

Sunday’s premiere attracted 1,723,000 viewers and while the show is the number one entertainment show, the majority of Australians chose to tune in to the Australian Open.
