Robert beat out big names Sam Pang, Jimmy Rees, Curtis Stone, Beau Ryan and Tristan MacManus for the role of TV presenter.

The network had a difficult task replacing popular host Dr. Chris Brown, and the cast was impressed with Robert’s natural charm at the audition.

If Carey makes it into the cast, it will be a great return as a football hero.

In September 2022, Carey was escorted out of the Perth casino.

The scandal caused Carey to quickly disappear from Melbourne’s airwaves and her very lucrative Channel 7 gig.

Carey’s contract at Channel 7 expired at the end of 2021 and industry site TV Blackbox reported it would not be renewed.

Channel 7 had already removed him from Friday’s main broadcast in favor of AFLW star Daisy Pearce.

The scandal came after a series of run-ins with the law dating back to 1996.
