With spring just around the corner, now is the perfect time to declutter and declutter.

And now experts have revealed why your zodiac sign could hold the key to how best to decorate your home.

Psychologist Honey Langcaster-James has teamed up with Ikea to analyze how each sign of the zodiac has unique characteristics when it comes to dealing with the clutter.

And whether you’re a tenacious Taurus who likes to color coordinate, or a label-loving Gemini, there are plenty of cosmic remedies to keep the clutter at bay.

Here’s how FEMAIL reveals how to tidy up your home this spring…

IKEA works with renowned psychologist Honey Langcaster-James. Their 12 Clutter Horoscopes reveal your cleaning style based on your zodiac sign

AQUARIUS

January 21 to February 19

Aquarians are known for being quirky, original and creative.

Those born under the sign of the water bearer can get particularly excited about innovative, hidden or secret storage solutions.

On the other hand, they may find themselves stashing clutter in spaces that others wouldn’t even think to look in, so there’s a risk that over time they’ll end up accumulating too much stuff to handle.

FISHING

February 20 – March 20

Emotionally aware, the Pisces sign is often sympathetic to others.

They are thought to go to great lengths to help ensure the happiness of those around them.

They are likely to keep valuable items and memorabilia for others in their lives, so they may have learned ways to store things effectively over the years.

Cleaning things up and letting go can be a completely different matter.

RAM

March 21 – April 20

Aries are often considered highly motivated and determined.

Those born under the sign of Aries may find that they have a straight forward and no-nonsense approach to tidying and home organization.

A few simple storage solutions for your general waste and recycling will appeal to Aries.

However, it’s better to avoid something with many different categories, which could only frustrate them with details they deem unnecessary.

TAURUS

April 21 – May 21

Those with the birth sign of Taurus are often considered to be down-to-earth, tenacious, and reliable characters.

They are probably rather devoted to order and organization. Color coordination will really please those born under the sign of Taurus, whether in their wardrobe or pantry.

When something isn’t right, Taurus tends to feel off balance.

TWIN

May 22 – June 21

Generally believed to be playful, curious, and sociable, the sign’s main characteristics would probably be organizing your home in a particularly fun and imaginative way.

Honey Langcaster-James advises Geminis to use a set of fun labels to help them think while organizing.

CANCER

June 22 – July 22

Honey revealed, “Traits associated with this zodiac sign are nurturing, loyal and knowing.

“Your focus on other people’s needs would probably make you especially fond of personalized organizational methods, such as a monogrammed towel or a set of named hooks to keep things organized and make sure everyone knows who’s who.”

LION

July 23 – August 21

The psychologist explained, “It is often assumed that Leos enjoy being the center of attention and are considered quite image conscious.”

Leos may require things to look neat and organized, at least on the surface.

However, those born under the sign of the Leo may have a hidden “dump” closet that is far from orderly and kept out of sight.

VIRGIN

August 22 – September 23

Virgos are considered practical, sensible perfectionists.

“These personality traits can often lead you to be meticulous and purposeful in your approach to clutter,” explains Honey.

“But this can sometimes seem ruthless if others have a stronger emotional attachment to items.”

For Virgos, it’s a simple one-on-one-out policy that works best, and everything has its place.

SCALE

September 24 – October 23

Libras are considered the most charming and balanced of the zodiac.

Desire for balance and tranquility can lead to a desire for calm, structured, neutral-colored home organization solutions.

Honey advised opting for consistent labeling and storage of natural materials.

She said they will help reduce chaos and restore order to even the most overwhelming pantry, bringing relief to those with a Libra-like need for calm.

SCORPION

October 24 – November 22

The Scorpio sign is believed to be the most emotional and deep thinking, so if you embody these traits, you’re likely to think about things from time to time.

The psychologist explained, “This can lead to chaos in the home as you become overwhelmed with decisions about what to keep and what to throw away.

“The key is to simplify and streamline your life as much as possible.

“For Scorpios, less is more because it reduces the need to think and consider everything.”

ARCHER

November 23 – December 22

“This birth sign is often considered the most optimistic, spontaneous, and fun,” says Honey.

She said, “You think you’re lovers of freedom and frivolity, but there’s a risk of rebellion if you try to keep things too structured or organized at home.”

Large laundry baskets and toy boxes suitable for throwing things into with a sense of spontaneous abandon are best for Sagittarius.

Smaller or more detailed storage containers just won’t get used, as they just seem clunky and restrictive.

IBEX

December 23 – January 20

Often thought of as ambitious, determined, and strong, Capricorn’s personality may be just the one needed to bring a sense of order to a house that’s gotten out of hand.

These personality traits keep them going when others return, so a big cleanup project or a big cleaning with a dramatic end result is ideal for this character.
