‘If those wings clap, we know something is going on in the back. We don’t know exactly what, but we’re pretty sure… that they understood the task.’

Captain Anthony ‘Tony’ Blake, a pilot with 42 years’ experience, describes to MailOnline Travel what it’s like to pilot a twin-engine Cessna 414 aircraft during his ‘mile-high experience’.

It’s a flight he’s taken 3,000 times over the past four years as co-founder and lead pilot of the Love Cloud Vegas tour.

The experience is a private flight over the desert and the Las Vegas Strip, in which up to four clients at a time join the mile-high club by having sex on the double bed installed in the back.

“It’s a very private and romantic date night,” Tony says. ‘We’re sorry. I’m sorry. I like to say that I have a very responsive joystick right from the start.

‘They move their feet and move backwards. I’m sorry. It is a smaller medium-sized aircraft. And we feel it all…unfortunately.’

While Captain Tony says he can feel everything going on in the back, he claims he can’t see or hear anything his beloved passengers are doing.

He explains: ‘We have headphones on and they cancel out all the noise. We fly in very restricted airspace. Friday nights and Sunday nights are generally the busiest in the country.

‘We are doing a circle in and out, down, under and around the airspace. Probably at any given time, 24 hours a day, 50 pilots take off and 50 land.

‘We are constantly listening for directional vectors: if we miss two calls, my 42-year-old license is lost. So my ears are very busy.’

The pilot also can’t see the back of the plane because of a divider placed between the flight deck – “we can’t call it the cockpit anymore,” he says – and the cockpit.

He commented: ‘We have never removed the divider. We have the curtain up. Unfortunately, that’s all we can do.

“They have never fallen by accident on a flight. So we won’t see it.

The interiors of the Love Cloud plane are “constantly improving,” but so far contain a spacious bed, sheets and a blanket, cushions, and seats where passengers can buckle up for takeoff.

What passengers do during the mile-high club experience is up to them: it’s “fair game” according to Tony, and some go out of their way to bring “bags of toys,” arrive in “sexy lingerie,” or “blindfold him.” “to a lover.

Fortunately, Love Cloud is strict with their hygiene process.

While Captain Tony jokes about cleaning the sheets “once a year”, he told MailOnline they usually “throw them away” after every flight.

He says: ‘We have four planes and they all have between 45 minutes and an hour of downtime between flights.

‘We have a ground crew, we throw away the sheets, we put in new sheets. One time last year we bought all the red satin sheets Google has. We are buying about 500 a month.

“We have bed covers and the beds are thrown in the trash about every 60 days; they are the cleanest beds in the city.”

In addition to the in-air experience, passengers are picked up from their hotel in a limousine – “comes with complimentary chocolate, champagne and flowers” – before heading to their flight.

Captain Tony notes, “They take you to the airport, no security, no TSA, no one will search your balls or look in your bag, and you drive to the plane on the ramp with the red carpet outside.”

However, if passengers are too drunk, they will be punished.

Tony explains: “If I open the door of a limo and see people falling out, they immediately go back to the limo.

‘This is not a drunk party or a disrespectful party. These are lovers. If you are completely drunk, you don’t need to come here on this flight.

Other common reasons for cancellation include maintenance and aircraft failures.

Tony says: “We’re in the aviation world, we have the same bar that any flagship airline would have when it comes to maintenance, probably a little bit higher because we’re a smaller company.”

Captain Tony, pictured, says: 'This is the only job in my life I can't wait to get out of bed for... I love it. I mean, I like flying planes and I like having sex.

Love Cloud riders must be 18 years or older and come from all upper age ranges.

Tony says: ‘The demographic ranges from 21 to 80 years old. We’ve had people over 80 come here. More than you really imagine.

However, they tend to fall into one of two demographic groups.

‘The majority of our customers, 90 per cent, are manual workers. Most of them had never been in a limo before,” says Tony. “The other five percent are, I can’t say porn anymore, content creators.”

Adult video creators reserve the Love Cloud for filming in the air: five AVN (Adult Video News) awards have been presented to the airline’s passengers for their work behind the divider, the captain notes.

When asked if Love Cloud hosts any big names, the pilot says, “We haven’t had any big monster names.”

While the mile-high club may not be everyone’s cup of tea, former commercial pilot Tony is flying high thanks to his success, fueled by his small plane that “keeps costs down” so ordinary people can afford the experience.

He says: ‘This is the only job in my life that I can’t wait to get out of bed for… I love it. I mean, I like flying planes and I like having sex.

“I told my wife, ‘Let’s put those two together and make it the most magical thing.’

‘Although we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, our customers always come with a big smile, they come happy and leave twice as happy.

“At the end of their flight, passengers receive a mile-high certificate and a wallet-sized plastic card that says, ‘Hey, you’re a member of our club.’

Love Cloud Vegas also offers wedding flights, where passengers get married on the ground before takeoff, and sunset flights.

The mile-high club experience comes in three packages: copper (30 minutes, $995/£785), silver (45 minutes, $1,195/£943), gold (60 minutes, $1,395/£1,101) and platinum (90 minutes, $1,500/£1,184). Visit: lovecloudvegas.com and www.instagram.com/love_cloud_vegas.
