Identical twin sisters who married identical twin brothers have revealed they live in neighboring homes and have children who share DNA as biological siblings.

Venessa and Kerissa Sealby, 28, and their respective husbands, Lucas and Jacob Sealby, 32, from Oregon, are certainly in a unique situation.

As they are two sets of twins, this means their daughters are cousins, but also share DNA as genetic sisters – an “extremely rare” phenomenon known as quaternary twins.

By discussing with Today Recently, Venessa and Kerissa insisted they had no plans to marry twins when they were younger.

In fact, they explained that they had “completely different types” and found the idea “weird.”

“The idea scared us a little bit, like no, that’s weird,” Venessa explained. “And physically we had completely different guys.”

But in June 2020, while Venessa was working as a personal trainer, one of her clients said she knew of a set of identical twin brothers who she thought would be “a perfect match” for Venessa and Kerissa.

With Venessa’s permission, her client gave Lucas her number. They started talking and he eventually invited her and Kerissa to spend time with him and his twin, Jacob.

Venessa said she knew Lucas was “the one” after they first met, instantly bonding over their love of sports and running, as well as their similar outgoing personalities.

“As soon as we got in the car, I looked at Kerissa and said, ‘I’m calling mom, because I’m marrying this man,'” she recalls.

A few days later, after their first one-on-one date, Kerissa realized that she was falling very much in love with Jacob.

Although she admitted it seemed “crazy” at first for her and her twin sister to date twin brothers, they quickly realized they couldn’t fight their feelings.

And their partners being twins actually helped make their bond even stronger.

“Before meeting Lucas and Jacob, the guys didn’t understand why we had to spend so much time together,” Kerissa explained.

“They’d be upset if I said, ‘I want to go to dinner with Venessa, just her and me.'” And Jacob’s old girlfriends would get mad at him for still wanting to be with Lucas.

Shortly after the sisters began dating the brothers, the couples moved into homes located “a stone’s throw from each other.”

“We’re constantly going back and forth with each other. I’m at Venessa’s probably 10 times a day,” Kerissa exclaimed.

Venessa and Lucas ended up getting married in October 2022, while Kerissa and Jacob walked down the aisle eight months later.

Kerissa and Jacob welcomed a daughter, named Sophie, in August 2022, and Venessa and Lucas’ daughter, named Adrian, was born in October 2023.

Cousins ​​”share DNA the same way siblings share DNA,” explained John Pappas, a doctor at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone.

“First of all, thank you to my twin for making the most beautiful little girl, proud of you. I love her so much already,” Kerissa wrote on Instagram after Adrian’s birth.

“And thank you so much for giving Sophie her best friend.” She’s already so protective and emotional towards her cousin…and I know their bond will be so special, much like ours.

They are now planning to get pregnant at the same time with their second child, with Kerissa telling the publication: “We’ve talked about it.

“Jacob and I are close to being ready. It would be so fun to have kids the same age and in the same school.
