A woman has shared how she suffered horrific injuries after falling into a crocodile-infested lagoon while on holiday.
Ivana Manzur suffered bites on her leg, foot and hand after falling into the Nichupté lagoon in Cancún, Mexico.
He suffered injuries so severe that he thought his foot would have to be amputated.
The 26-year-old was posing for a photo on a dock overlooking the lagoon when she slipped and fell into the water.
“I saw him face to face when I fell into the water,” Ivana, from Villahermosa, Mexico, said in a video posted on social media.
‘I had him in front of me and I said, “I’m going to die.” But Christ said: “No little one, this is not the time.”
‘I started praying to God… I don’t remember the size of the crocodile but I don’t think it was a baby crocodile because of the wounds it left me.
“He tried to drown me three times but I swear, he had a supernatural strength that I didn’t really know.”

Manzur, from Villahermosa, Mexico, was visiting the city of Cancun, in Mexico with his family and had visited a Greek restaurant with some friends.
He went out and posed for a photo on the dock when he suddenly fell and came face to face with the reptile.
She revealed that she was sure she was going to die, but she wanted to fight because “I wanted my parents to have a body to cry over.”
“I started hitting him and got out.”
The fight lasted about five minutes, leaving her in a state of complete shock.
At that time her family was not present, but her sister’s cousin, whom she was with, and a waiter from the restaurant helped her.
“I only saw blood,” Ivana continued in the video.
‘I went with my friends, so my family wasn’t even there.
“The first thing I wanted was my cell phone so I could call my family.”
The ordeal occurred in July 2021, however, Ivana has only just begun to feel ready to open up.
She revealed that she was sure she was going to die, but she wanted to fight because “I wanted my parents to have a body to cry over.”
“I didn’t develop any trauma towards the animal, I just developed certain insecurities about my body,” he said in a new video.
Ivana hopes to make a positive impact by sharing her experience.
Even though his wounds are completely healed, he is left with both physical and mental scars.
Since the incident, Ivana has struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder and insecurities about her appearance, NeedToKnow reported.
Surprisingly, she said she is not afraid of the animal that attacked her.
She said: “The truth is that there has been a lot of therapy.”
‘I have post-traumatic stress and I don’t care if the memories don’t come back to me.
‘I didn’t develop any trauma towards the animal, I just developed certain insecurities about my body.
‘I feel insecure about my scars and what people will say about those things.
‘But towards the animal, the truth is that there is nothing.
‘It’s not an animal that scares me, but obviously I wouldn’t go swimming.
‘I could have lost everything I had in my head, but hey, I didn’t lose it and I’m here.
“I am a warrior.”
Ivana has been skeptical about telling her story and sharing what happened with the world.
In the past, she experienced cruel comments from people who accused her of making up the story.
She finally feels ready to talk about her experience after suffering mental torment for the past three years.
Ivana hopes to make a positive impact by sharing her experience.
“Obviously it’s very difficult for me to make these videos and tell my story,” Ivana said.
“People used to say very ugly things to me.

Surprisingly, she said that she does not feel afraid of the animal that attacked her.
‘They said, “Oh, you’re a liar.” They sent me messages saying “You weren’t doing that” like they knew more than me.
‘I would go out into the street with great shame.
‘When I returned to the city of Villahermosa to rehabilitate myself, I went out into the street with a cap and glasses.
‘I was actually embarrassed that people knew. I didn’t deserve to be bitten by a crocodile.
‘But hey, it happened in the end.
‘I’m still going through a difficult time and I’m in the process of being able to say ‘I can wear a bikini’ or ‘I can wear shorts.’
“I’m not there yet, but I know I will.”
“One way or another, if I can touch someone with my story in a positive way, I will.”
