Can you guess who this future rom-com legend is taking her senior photo?

She’s now an iconic rom-com legend whose own child became famous.

While her voice was dubbed by Glenn Close in her first film, she has gone on to huge success, starring in some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

But before he became famous, this future star was just a typical teenager preparing for high school.

In her yearbook photo, this future legend is seen beaming with happiness as she takes her senior photo. In the classic black and white photo, the star is seen wearing chunky earrings and a crew-neck top.

Her famous curly hair is returned to a classic, slicked-back style, but there are a few loose curls running along her skin tone.

Can you guess who this star is?

It’s Andie MacDowell!

After graduating from Gaffney High School in 1976, MacDowell starred in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes, playing Jane.

She was 23 years old at the time, but the experience became daunting when, after shooting the film, she learned that her voice would not actually be used in the film.

Instead, she heard that Glenn Close had dubbed over her voice.

‘I was 23 when I did ‘Greystoke’ (1984’s ‘The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes’, in which I played Jane opposite a Tarzan who moves to Britain and tries to assimilate). I showed up and there were no complaints about my performance,” she told the station Chicago Tribune in 2019.

‘I felt like I did well. I was a little scared the first scene I did with Sir Ralph Richardson, but I think that’s normal. But no one ever told me there was a problem.

‘(After filming was done) they made me come out and do some looping and I appeared alone in London, I did publicity for the film. And then they told me: they were repeating Glenn Close’s voice (and dubbing it over MacDowell’s Southern songs throughout the movie). They just said, “We didn’t use your voice. We used Glenn Close’s voice. Your voice isn’t in the movie.”

‘And then Hugh (Hudson, the director) asked me to make the sound of Tarzan’s mother having the baby in the jungle, so I did that for him. It was like an out of body experience.

“You know when you want to cry and you have that feeling in your throat? I did. I could barely talk. It was devastating.”

When asked if she had ever talked to Glenn about the dub, Andie said she feels “uncomfortable” around her.

‘I’ve seen her and I’ve always felt uncomfortable. Most of the time she was with people and she seemed very happy and comfortable, and I didn’t know how to approach her. I probably should have, but what do you say? I don’t know how she feels. It’s not like she did anything wrong. She got a job and they paid her. But it’s just a little bit awkward,” she said.

Despite the disappointment, Andie achieved great success and starred in numerous major films, including classic rom-coms.

Among them was the Bill Murray-led comedy Groundhog Day and a starring role opposite Hugh Grant in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Her impressive resume includes Sex, Lies and Videotape, Green Card, Multiplicity and many more.

Not only that, but her daughter Margaret Qualley has also caught the acting bug.

The duo starred together in the 2021 Netflix series Maid.

Margaret is also enjoying her own success, starring in the Oscar-nominated film The Substance.
