Iconic girlband ‘will appear in the final episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway for their first television performance in 14 YEARS’

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will reportedly end with the first TV performance by a major UK girl group in over a decade.

The 20th season of the live variety show will end in April, before the show goes on hiatus.

And to celebrate decades of entertainment coming to an end, the show’s epic finale will feature a performance by a major group.

Girls Aloud will perform live on television for the first time since their Children In Need performance in 2012.

The group reformed in 2023 following the death of bandmate Sarah Harding from cancer in 2021 and will begin their memorial tour, The Girls Aloud Show, in May.

‘The girls will be treated like royalty and the producers know they will have incredible outfits planned for the night.

Girls Aloud have known Ant and Dec for decades and were some of the first victims of the duo’s TV pranks.

In 2004, the cheeky Geordie couple dressed as uptight nuns to interview the band in an embarrassing sketch that left the group in a fit.

The band were recently announced as headliners at the Brighton Pride festival in the city’s Preston Park in August.

Their sold-out comeback tour kicks off in Dublin on May 17 and finishes in Liverpool on June 30.

In February, Ant and Dec revealed that Takeaway will be taking a hiatus so they can focus more on their families, before Ant welcomes his first child.

Ant is set to become a father in June after it was revealed his wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, is expecting their first child together. Anne-Marie has two children from her previous marriage.

speaking to Failure MagazineAnt said: ‘OhOn a more personal level, part of the reason we are pausing Takeaway is that we need a break and we need to spend some time with our family.

‘We both have children we need to spend time with for a while. We need time to think and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and see where we are now.’

The couple will continue their exclusive working relationship with ITV, hosting hit shows including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent and Limitless Win, all of which air on ITV1 and ITVX.
