The iconic bakery, known for selling a delicious variety of traditional Italian sweets, ice creams, cakes and paninis, closed its doors on Sunday, April 28.

The company shared the news on Instagram with its 21,000 fans, leaving thousands devastated.

‘Thank you all for your messages and advice on where you would like to see us next. Bondi will be sorely missed!’ the post said.

‘We had a fantastic 10 years in Bondi Beach and are so grateful to the local Bondi community for supporting us over the years.

‘Closing our Bondi Beach location was not an easy decision for us, however our lease has now ended.

‘We have decided to close this chapter and are excited about the new ventures ahead. Stay tuned for what Papa’s has in store.”

‘They are so devastated that they are leaving. Thank you for the delicious charcuterie and the best coffee in Bondi,” one wrote.

“The store will be sorely missed but it has definitely left some lovely memories for the Bondi community,” said another.

The Five Dock and Haberfield stores in Sydney’s inner west will continue to operate as normal.
