If you’re tired of frantically going through hundreds of old messages, there’s good news.

WhatsApp has released a major update in hopes of making it easier to find specific chats.

The messaging app has introduced three new chat filters, allowing you to search for messages without having to scroll through your entire inbox.

Here’s how to try the new chat filters for yourself.

WhatsApp announced the new Chat Filters feature in a blog post this week.

“Opening WhatsApp and finding the right conversation should be quick, fluid and easy,” he explained.

‘As people increasingly use WhatsApp, it’s more important than ever to be able to access their messages quickly.

“That’s why today we’re launching new chat filters so you can do it without having to scroll through your entire inbox.”

Users can choose from three filters, which will appear at the top of the chat list: Everyone, Unread, and Groups.

As you may have guessed, selecting All will allow you to search all messages, while Unread will limit the search to messages you haven’t opened yet.

Meanwhile, Groups will limit the search to your group chats.

“We believe the filters will make it easier for people to stay organized and find their most important conversations and help navigate through messages more efficiently,” WhatsApp added.

“We will continue to create more options to help you focus on what matters most.”

Chat filters have already started rolling out to users and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
