Ian Wright has admitted he is frustrated by the location of ITV’s studio during Euro 2024.

The Arsenal legend has been providing expert analysis throughout the tournament, alongside the likes of Gary Neville and Roy Keane.

Neither the BBC nor ITV punditry teams attend the matches, and Wright and company present their games from a balcony studio on the fourth floor of the Academy of Arts on Berlin’s Pariser Platz.

Talking about Stick to Football: The Overlap Special podcast, hosted by Sky BetWright expressed his frustrations over the placement to Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Jill Scott.

He said: ‘You watch the Turkey vs Georgia match, because we are doing it here (from the studio) and you don’t have the feeling.

ITV presents the matches from a studio in Berlin, instead of attending the matches

ITV is presenting the matches from a studio in Berlin, rather than attending the matches.

Wright said that from the location of his studio

Wright said that from the location of his studio he doesn’t “get the feeling” that he would be doing it inside the stadium.

“Probably when you’re there you can feel that it’s a good game and because we’re doing it from the studio, we’re not getting it right. I miss that.”

Turkey’s group stage match against Georgia was one of the most entertaining of the tournament, with a 3-1 victory.

The Euro 2024 matches have seen an incredible atmosphere in the host stadiums throughout the tournament which is now in the quarter-final stage.

The BBC studio complex is on the same square, just behind the Brandenburg Gate.

ITV is in a similar position to the BBC during the 2006 World Cup in Germany, and as Mail Sport previously reported, there has been some teasing about how it can watch its rivals’ site instead of the presenters. Pougatch and Laura Woods’ shoulders, but it is understood ITV has emergency access to the BBC complex if it starts to rain sideways.

Wright, during his career as a commentator, has been accustomed to doing live matches inside stadiums.

It’s a change for Wright, who was used to attending matches as a commentator when the BBC or ITV broadcast live matches outside of the tournament.

The end of the recent season marked the end of Wright’s Match of the Day streak.

Wright, 60, decided to retire from the show, where he made his debut in 1997, and became a regular commentator in 2002.

The location of his studio also means Wright will be out of action for Spain’s clash with Germany today and the Netherlands vs Turkey tomorrow.
