A primary school teacher who won a £4million luxury mansion thought she was being pranked when she was told of her mega win.
Hannah Drury, 42, was left “speechless” when she discovered she had dug up the riverside shelter in the Lake District.
The married mother-of-three bagged the secluded waterside sanctuary in Coniston Water as part of the Omaze Million Pound home giveaway.
And she also got £250,000 in cash to help her and her family settle into their new country.
But when opera singer Hannah first heard about the windfall, she was convinced it was a “perk” from one of her peers.
She said: “I got a random call on Friday night saying I had won some Omaze, at first I just assumed it was a friend winding us up, then when I didn’t recognize the voice I thought maybe I’d get some cash or something like that.
“But suddenly Omaze appeared and revealed to me that he had won a £4million mansion.
“I was speechless and that never happens. My husband was shocked because he didn’t even know I had come in.

After realizing the victory was real, Hannah immediately broke her “dry January” promise by opening a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

‘We opened a bottle we had been saving for a special occasion, but it had actually gone bad and tasted like vinegar! Luckily we had a backup so it showed up.

‘Our daughter came down the next morning and said she had dreamed that someone had given us a big house, we told her that this time her dream had come true.
